Who Wants To Go Into Business Selling Confederate Flags?

Less vendors by the day and the ones selling them now are charging an arm and a leg or even as much as an entire human being. I'm stocking up on American flags for the day they become contraband also.

Nah, nobody wants an American flag anymore. Those things are so 1976.

Everybody these days wants a flag that represents their past. If they'd get their asses in gear, they'd be flying the flag that *could* represent their future:

And just from taking weekend drives on back roads, since all this foolishness started going down a couple of weeks ago, do you know the people who are most anxious to fly that "boy, did we ever get our asses kicked" flag? I only see reb flags flying over "houses" that had to be registered at the DMV and got delivered on wheels. And the more I thought about it, I saw it as kind of sad really. Most of them probably couldn't tell you the years that the Civil War took place or which side won certain battles. But they don't have anything. And they never will have anything. So this imagery... this fake heritage that they've dreamed up... that's all that they've got. And now they feel like they're losing that. Even Dale Earnhardt, Jr. just turned on them. Dang, talk about rubbing salt in a wound! These poor bastards must feel like their great, great grandpappies did when Sherman stormed through and torched the south.

I'm in. UNLV runnin' Rebels? Who wouldn't wave a confederate battle flag at a home game at Thomas and Mack or the Silver Bowl? It'd be like printing money.

In Texas they issue a Confederate flag along with a handgun and bottle of whiskey every time you register to vote or renew your drivers license and every weekend flea markets across the state have at least one flag guy that sells them in bulk from China.

I the irony both humorous and sad that it's so hard to buy an US flag or just anything printed with the stars and stripes actually made in the US. One has to almost go out of their way to get one.

On the other hand I guess it is an accurate metaphor for what the economy of the US has sunk to and where our priorities are so maybe it's fitting for us.
