I just watched Alien, so that's my first choice.

The perfect halloween movie is Evil Dead 2, a nice mixture of scary and funny.

he just wants to kill you, period.
the only way to kill him is with silver bullets, although i never saw anyone use flamethrower or bazooka against him
those might work also, not sure.

freddy kruger is probably the most lethal. he gets you in your sleep. can't avoid him
sooner or later, he'll get ya.

I don't remember what the movie is called, but there was a gargoyle that came to life. Something about a broken promise or whatever. It was a collection of short scary stories. Anyway, that thing gave me nightmares for days when I was younger!
