Pretty much knew this already, we have the technology for different more efficient forms of energy but the 1% bought all the patents and wont make them available because they'd be out of business in 5 years.

I picked up a smidgen of sarcasm there. This is capitalism. If someone isn't reaping gigantic profits at the expense of others, you're doing it wrong.It's a good thing we seriously started researching alternative energy sources decades ago like we desperately need instead of waiting until it was too late and was profitable for companies to do so.
