I don't know if it's lazy or accidental but the victims are almost cast as villainous of some sort. Usually immoral or so careless you feel them not dying would cause negative climate change. Even Japanese Godzilla films have sympathetic characters frantically running from a guy in a rubber suit. The American one was like Sex In The City Goes To Jurassic Park. As a Californian I was cheering for Godzilla to crush the obnoxious NYers.

5. Hannibal Lecter in Hannibal.
