I would love nothing more than to see Psylocke and Spider-Man develop a mutual friendship. She could be one of the few heroines who could be close friends with Spider-Man in the same manner as Ms. Marvel. While Spider-Man and Wolverine a close friends, why can't Peter become friends with Betsy? I would think that Peter would one of the few people who Psylocke could have an occasional partnership with. Not to mention dating(out of costume) in order for both of them to get to know the other. I feel that having Psylocke as an ally would be a good thing for Spider-Man as both of them would hit it off very well
Psylocke's relationship with Peter would allow her to unlock the memories(The she had locked away in Peter's mind) of their time together in the United Kingdom when they worked together with Captain Britain. This was before Betsy joined the X-Men; and it would explain why she has a soft spot for nerds like Cyper. The reason why we have not seen a team-up adventure between Captain Britain and Spider-Man was because Betsy had sealed Peter's memories of them and her relationship with him in order to protect him from Mojo. Thus, Betsy wanted to insure that Spider-Man doesn't remember their relationship together.
Such a shame that Marvel never did a team-up adventure between them. The same goes for Spider-Man and Spider-Woman as well. The two of the best potential team-ups that Marvel has failed to take advantage of. I never understood why Bendis broke up this amazing team just to pair Clint up with Spider-Woman. Whenever I read the various Avengers stories with Peter and Jessica, it seems like a natural progression of their friendship which sometimes makes it seem like they were an old married couple who knows what the other is going to say. This is just speculation on my part regarding Peter and Jessica's relationship. I believe that the direction in which Bendis might have wanted for Spider-Man and Spider-Woman was to have had a mutual relationship; of which we might have seen Jessica finally getting to know Peter Parker for who he really is outside of crime fighting. From there, Jessica might have learned that Peter's life is no different from her own(excluding the Hydra and all that spy stuff) as far as being an outcast is concerned and how he dealt with it in a positive sense. As well as how his past actions had led to the loss of Uncle Ben, Captain George Stacy, Jean DeWolf, and Gwen Stacy. That right there would definitely had changed Jessica's view on Peter Parker immediately because she would finally understand why he acts the way he does as Spider-Man. This is the real side to Spider-Man that very few people in the superhero community know about. If Jessica got to know Peter Parker in this manner, she wouldn't act like such a witch towards him whenever he makes wisecrack jokes.
As far as superhero relationships goes, I like the personal interaction between Jessica Drew and Peter Parker better than with her relationship with Clint Barton on a personal level because it might have been fun to see a genuine friendship development outside of the Avengers. Personally, if Bendis had the chance to further develop Jessica Drew's friendship with Peter Parker(as Roger Stern had done with the Black Cat), the next writer would have had a tough time getting rid of it as well. But we can't deny that throughout his run, Bendis has always provided hints that he wanted Peter Parker and Jessica Drew together. Even when she was with Hawkeye, Jessica was always in close proximity to Spider-Man. And he did make them seem like an old married couple in a good way.
I think that if he had worked on the Amazing Spider-Man, I believe that Bendis would have placed Jessica Drew into Spider-Man's world as his partner in a reoccurring guest spot. I feel that Spider-Man's world would have been the right place for Jessica to be as it would have raised her profile a great deal as it has with the Avengers. Only this time, she would be sharing the same guest spot with the Black Cat.
