Its been a little while since I've made a post talking about the brand new FreeOnes website! And the plans for this message board. I plan on picking up writing on the FreeOnes blog about improvements for those that want to follow what we're doing more closely but I'll keep these posts on the board short and sweet.

What's New with the New Site?

If you live in Europe, or someplace that isn't the USA, it's likely you found yourself on www.FreeOnes.xxx already. Of course right now we're offering a path back to the old site, but soon we're going to put the remaining traffic on the new site and switch the old one off. I highly suggest going and taking a look at the new site if you haven't been over there for awhile and start using it! We have a lot of great features that you can't find on the old site such as:

- in depth filters
- saving search and filter results
- being able to save videos in playlists
- watching video previews without having to click through to the actual video page
- channel pages where you can find all the content from your favorite site in one place
- finding the exact camgirl that you want to see, live, right now
- see the global ranking of babes right on their Avatar Picture from the Babe Index Page



The new site also offers much bigger images through the sites, the links have thumbnails so you can see what its about, and the new site is much faster!

When are we switching 100% to the new site? Hopefully by the end of March or the beginning of April at the latest.

What About the Board?

One of the things we tried to do, but ended up not working out, is connecting the current board to the new site so we could keep the 1 login for both the site and board like we have now. Unfortunately, vBulletin has become so outdated that trying to get it to work was starting to cost a lot of time. So we looked around at other software and we're currently taking a very close look at Xenforo.

Over the Christmas period we had our system admin install a sandbox version of the board software and successfully import everyone's board accounts and posts. So on that front, XenForo is looking very promising. Now we have the developer that tried hooking the new site and the board together looking into integrating the new software into the new site. If that's successful then we'll start working on getting things fully set up and moved over.

Overall, XenForo seems to be pretty user friendly, it looks fresh, and it has all the functionality that vBulletin has (and actually works). The only downside, which really isn't a bad thing because it's like a fresh start, is reputation isn't going to be exported from this board to XenForo. You're going to have to start from scratch but I think it'll be fun to have something new to do!

Things We Know We're Missing

Finally, I'd like to mention that the new site is nowhere near "complete". We have a lot of nifty new features the old site didn't have, but we still have a lot of things to do before we can be 100% completely satisfied with the new site. Things that are in the works and are coming (in no particular order):

- switching to the new ranking system (it's currently in "shadow rank" mode which is admin only)
- credit system (you can already see how many credits are in your account on your profile)
- suggesting cast to videos, photos, and links
- suggesting categories and tags to photos, videos and links
- adding twitter to the babe's dashboard feed
- allowing babes to "claim" their babe section
- allowing you to tip your credits to a babe
- allowing babes to sell their content
- adding filmographies to babe profiles
- adding streaming dashboards to channels
- adding premium content to channels
- night mode
- VR player for VR content
- personalized content and suggestions
- GIF section

Would it be possible for an imagesharing portion of the site? Something akin to imgur, but force #imagetags, moderation as to block inappropos images, etc.. would that be easier than teh upload function on the board?

And here is an off the wall but maybe useful feature ~ when we click on a babe to go to her profile, can you set up that profile as a mini-board? Previously we could leave comments on a babe's page, but what if we could create our own topics? Its like a home away from home, if youre only into a few babes, why even go to the main board and search thousands of topics, one could just go to her profile page!

Funny enough, we used to have something like imgur back in the day. I don't know if hostones rings any bells. That was closed down when we were contacted by law enforcement that it had child porn on it. So I'm not 100% sure that's something that FreeOnes wants to try again.

As for the mini board idea, that's actually not a bad one and kind of falls into the social ideas that we want to implement. I don't think we'd be able to utilize this with the new board software, but its for sure something that we could build and I don't think it's really going to be too hard because it's kind of like some functionality we have for the "collections". Keep the ideas coming.

Users would be able to use credits and/or buy directly. Babes earn in credits and cash out for real $$$.

This is something that would come out late in the year if not next year since we still need to lay the foundation for the credit and accounting system. More than likely when we implement the features like being able to use credits to download videos or for making board posts, it'll use the old credit system at first.

There is, but only available if you're on our internal network. ;-) The screenshot you saw in the OP was mostly to make sure we were able to import all the user accounts and board posts w/o much issue. Right now one of the developers is looking into how we can integrate it into the new site and if it's a viable option (lets just say vBulletin ate up a lot of resource hours we'll never get back) without the high maintenance of vBulletin. End of the day yesterday I got a "its looking promising".

Actually, this is correct. On the new profiles you're able to upload an avatar image and this was causing storage problems so we have to temporarily close off the profile part of the account. You should still see the babes and whatnot that you've followed right now.

So the new site always demands an e-mail address from now on, huh. My current e-mail address is infinitely far from valid, it has long since been destroyed for inactivity. Still absolutely and violently hate that new carconigenic mobile disaster, so it wouldn't be much of a loss anyway. Well, except for those MyFreeones points which I might use for getting maybe one thing once.

As for the forum, that actually seems promising. One thing though: rather than having that irrelevant piece of shit rep system with no value whatsoever and prone to being forcefully reset or divided by 100 or whatever when the most active users start exceeding MAX_INT_REP, just have ID rep for the ID board. Every correct ID would gain exactly one point of ID rep per correct post per thread, regardless of how many users would rep you for that correct ID. That sort of a counter would actually have some kind of use, as everyone could then see how competent and active "identifier" you are.
