I think of the pioneers in the media/news and i think most of them would be ashamed of what has become of it...
Journalism was once the purest form of information. Information that was actually reliable and informative.
Today, I cant seem to find anything good about the media. Between the commercialism, control, agendas, brain-deteriorating qualities, and a whole bunch of ****, its hard not to look at what the media does for global society and not question whether it is beneficial or detrimental...Its tough, because the media (in America and most countries) is facilitated by free speech, which is a good thing. However, I really feel as if the majority of major media outlets have simply become so profit/rating hungry that they simply ignore the ramifications they create within society....your thoughts?
Certainly the media is not responsible for all of society's problems, but I think a lot more positive things could be done if media was handled for properly. For one, we could start with COMPLETELY eliminating news regarding *********** and such. So many trivial shows, and news about **** nobody should care about. But are minds are filled with garbage and drama, creating a reality for most which is completely whacked out...we embrace the media we have today, because it is so "fast" and technologically innovative, which is true to a certain degree...but when do people start seeing what is really happening in their world? When can people make judgements, and create ideas and thoughts based off of their OWN feelings, instead of being told how to? so many things to do....ill be done...
