Masculinity isn't the problem. It's people trying to be macho that are a problem. Machismo isn't manliness. It's what people that don't know how to be a man act like when they pretend to be one.
To me being an actual man entails things like taking responsibility for ones actions, having intelligence, caring for others, helping others, and admitting one's own faults and mistakes and then correcting them. Chest thumping and thinking he who yells the loudest wins and argument is what pretenders do. I often find it ironic that those that exhibit "toxic masculinity" are often the ones that are the most fragile and weak on the inside or are scarred and insecure about a ton of things.
