What's the best member to be in a band and why?

For me it's a toss up between a Bass guitarist and a Drummer. I always thought the Bassist is the more grounded one in the band, what do you think?

Bassists do it deeper.

Seriously, bass is a far better instrument to pick up that drums. Easier to learn and more rewarding to master, plus it's handier to practice and transport your stuff.

Die For Me
Guitarist, because I idolise Marty Friedman and want to have his babies
Or at least be like him

Elwood70

Torn & Frayed.
That depends,do you want to be the one that gets all the credit for the band's success (Mick Jagger),or be the one that's the true backbone and heart and soul of the band (Keith Richards) ?

It's up to you......

Spleen

Banned?
If you're an attention whore and you want to end up being hated by the majority of your fans once you get too famous for your own good, lead vocals is the way to go.

If you want pussy, vocals and guitar are the way to go. The rhythm section gets fat chicks and sloppy seconds. True facts.

Legzman

what the fuck you lookin at?
Either lead guitar or vocals. They get the pussy first!

The accordionist.

Bassist. The Bass Guitar is niot a very "spectacular" instrument but, live, if the bass-guitar does bad, the others guys won't be able to do good.

If you compare music to a sandwivch, Bass-guitar is the bread : nothing special, it's just bread. But it's the base on wich all the other things are based. You can do a sandwich without meat or without salad or tomatoes, or cheese. But you can't make one without bread.

the bassist is always the most intelligent one in the band the drummer is dumb as a box of rocks the vocalist always has life issues that lead to band issues and the guitarist has bad ego problems.

The Agent. You get the pussy, the money, you don't have any pressure to perform and when the band puts out a clunker record and begin to fade, you can drop them and move on to the next band...:thefinger:
