I loved loved loved high school! I was on the volley ball & cheerleading team, I was in drama class (thats where I met my husband :) ) My boyfriend(now husband) had a car lol life was good. My mom was alive, my brother didn't have an IEP.. Me & my friends man we ran that school.. The uniform part sucked, oh and so did freakin math class! (the only class I ever came close to failing) But for the most part, High school was great :D

My high school experience still bothers me a bit. Both my older brothers were all-state in several sports (one of them was an All-American wrestler) and I went to the same high school four years later. The coaches expected more from me because of this and I was something of a disappointment to them because I was monumentally lazy.

I spent more time envisioning the loss of my virginity than actually studying and more time doing beer bongs than homework.

I had more than a few girlfriends but none of them lasted more than a couple months.

I had a close circle of friends and could interact with different cliques without much effort but I only recently reconnected via social networking sites. I haven't attended any reunions or really sought out anyone in particular.

I have received a few emails and stuff from old friends and people I didn't take notice of and I thought that's nice.

In the long term I'd say for the most part my experience was decent, not too traumatic, but I don't think there will be any statues in my image erected any time soon.

I never appreciated high school until I left. Looking back now I’ve realised what a doss it was. So great days. But I wouldn’t what to do it again.

I smoked alot of pot, drank alot of beer, and dropped alot of shrooms and acid. I went to alot of all ages punk show at a club called The Rat in Boston that is now student housing. And in some ways I had some respect for my teachers in high school. I didn't mouth off with them and actually enjoyed getting an education.

Football, wrestling, basketball, girls and parties.

When I got to high school as a frosh...my sister was a Sr. and in the "in" crowd so I knew all of the so called "cool' people already. Being a pretty good athlete didn't hurt either so I "dated" many of the upperclassman girls and went to all the best parties.

In the 10th grade I fell in "love" but it that lasted about 2 months...got busted cheating with a girl who lived right around the corner from her.:o Turns out my g/f going to a different high school didn't stop her from driving through her neighborhood and seeing my car at another girl's house. Pretty ingenious, huh?

Still trying to figure which was my favorite year between Jr. and Sr....I suppose Sr. edges Jr. since my Jr. year was marred by having to drive my car around for a couple of weeks with a lingering stench of vomit. Girl tossed herself while we were leaving the school picnic and didn't quite reach the outside of the window.:cussing:

All in all great experience and not many regrets...best years of my life....until college..:D

I think that the public school curriculum these days is much more ideological / theoretical - (lefty think) political today, more so than it used to be, at least that's the consensus among a public school principal and two public school teachers that I know personally.

Ever since the US dept of education was formed, (FU Jimmy Kottah !) education in this country has gone in the shitter, go fig-r. :dunno: Many claim that the individual teachers are the problem, however, I take exception with that ... they're just following the orders coming from the top.

fwiw
I loved my h.s. days, even the bad ones :banger:

Sounds pretty traumatic Facetious....I see even a question about your "wonder years" is still not safe from political diadrivel.:1orglaugh

was ok, my best years were 97-98 and 98-99, from 99-03, there was nothing special. I remember of some serious greed slappings that I had given to some dunces and shit stirrers :fight: as well as I will always remember how I took my revenge on some fat pig who unfairly laughed at me and mocked me during the whole year and who didn't get his a level:thefinger When the a level results were published on the bill board, the guy was crying, I came next him: "Hey Fattie, where is your a level? Apparently, your brain isn't weighting with much intelligence." The guy wanted to punch me but I middle kicked him in the balls and said him: "Know one thing, none fucks with me."
I wasn't a very talkative person but I was always very direct and straightforward. Some people used to call me the Lone Wolf because I was never involved in "clans" nor never following anyone. But it didn't prevent me to be in very good terms with everyone. I am a sagittarius and like any sagittarius, my freedom and my independance are what I value the most. And when one someone used to get on his high horses against me and my friends, I took the matter in my hands and make sure the person in question never annoyed us again.

wasn't the best time of my life by far, some cool experiences, but didn't develop any long-lasting friendships (never really have) and am not really interested in any reunions

High school was a great time. Until then I was mostly bored because I found most stuff too easy. Also I became alienated with most of my class and had not much social ĺife.

In high school that changed. I met people who heard the same music as me. I was no longer mocked by reading cartoons (which I still enjoy, though not so much) and I actually liked people enough to spend my spare time with them - mostly drinking beer.

Since I have contact - 13 years later - with several of my friends from that time. University was more exciting but social life was different - more elusive as a tight knit class did not exist.

I have a pretty glorious picture of my high school time. I long for it every now and then, but I do not think I would be able to go through that time again and have as much fun :)

Sucked Big Time.
I was an intellectual in a community that use to be shit kicking sticksville but got run through by urban development.
so the locals in denial of the fact that Mayberry RFD was in reallity the Bronx all hung out in the same 4 places and if any locals were found in a civilized establishment meant an ass pounding (often literally) in school the next day.
so here I am desperately trying to get into a good college while trying to stay out of the agriculture wood shop or mechanics (of which I failed).
Because I didn't want to be a shit kicker, I was constantly dodging the social workers trying to get me medicated for Schizophrenia (my day's A.D.D.).
I some how managed to be one of the few not to get ass raped by the jocks (in the 80s that was considered good natured hazing), I was considered gay because I chose quire over gym, despite the fact i was only one of 3 boys in a class room full of girls most of them juniors and seniors, got my cherry popped when I was a sophomore by some 6 foot tall strawberry blonde 18 year old Senior bombshell, and all though it was one hell of an experience I lived in perpetual fear of the potential ass whooping (raping) I would get if anyone found out.
My high school only offered for a future, becoming a farmer, secretary, mechanic, guidance councilor or joining the military as options for a future.
becoming an arts and science academic was not in their curriculum and there for was not going to be my future.
most kids studied to become mechanics and farmers and when they got out of high school, discovered that the new generation of farms and cars were all high tech and needed to know more than how to shovel shit or change a tire.
so now most of everyone is in retail or the military.
the few kids that did make it into college became communications majors and now do local radio commercials over cel phones for local businesses.
I dropped out, I get shit jobs and hang out with other beatnik artists in another state.

If the people I went to high school with me knew I make porn for a living, they'd shit themselves. I was the ultimate late bloomer, shy and mousy in school, hardly dated, didn't even have sex 'til I was 19...I think I've more than made up for it now! :nanner:
