What % of women, say in the US, are involved in the sex industry?

I apologize if this was asked previously, but I searched and I could not find a similar thread.

Specifically what % of women have worked as strippers, porn stars, adult models, escorts etc.?

Also, how would that translate into the current cohort of 18-35 yr old girls?

Thanks in advance.

Didnt someone open a thread a couple of days ago
that said 1% of all Americans...

Edit:
ah that wasnt the same topic right? :o ;)

I have tried a variety of keyword combos but can't find the thread - maybe cuz I'm a noob or maybe cuz I'm just slow. I thought the Yale Porn debate would be helpful but all Martin Bashir said was more than 100,000 are involved in the porn industry. Not quite what I am asking. If possible can you post the link to the thread you are talking about?

Thanks

Amazingly, as a percentage, it's the same value as Pi.

3.141592653589793238462643383279502884197169399375%

Yes, it's a hell of a lot, but percentage-wise it can't be that big of a number.

Also, how could even a reasonable estimate be made? How do you put a number to this sort of thing? It would almost have to be sheer, and wild, guesswork....

Why is everyone giving this guy a hard time?

He asked a question, I dont think it requires 15 guys trying to be funny by giving sarcastic answers.

Do I walk into your job or interupt your free time to ask stupid questions? And if I asked a stupid question would I feel bad if they laughed about it later?

Not really.

Point being.. a lot of us have been here a long time. We laugh because we've seen the questions before.. and/or it's just a stupid question to begin with.

I mean really.. what answer do you expect? "The University of Ohio publishes pornstar report"?!? A government funded study maybe? There is.. simply.. no real answer. Period. Might as well laugh at it, since it is.. yes.. a stupid question.

No, it just requires one guy to come in and offer nothing; neither a joke nor an answer.

As for the topic, I don't think anyone can really come up with an answer for this, especially since some women wouldn't readily admit to working in the sex industry.

If your talking about just the women that are in front of the camera or the actual strippers or women doing some other legal work in the adult industry where they are the ones being viewed, I would say the percentage is probably pretty low. I would be surprised if it even got close to 1%.

Yeah, you are right dammit, it requires at least 25. Oh, and the answer to the question is -.04%. I don't know how, but it is.
