Everything is perfect and right on point: cold and icy, perfect carbonation, just sweet enough without being too sweet, and even the straw is the best straw.
The straw is bigger then regular straws, and they go well above and beyond to make it perfect.I can't remember all of the things that do, but it is a special process Micky D's does, to make it the best Coke out there. I bet there are web pages dedicate to it.
I'm guilty of occasionally indulging in a McDonald's Coca-Cola, a large is just $1, and oh-so-good. It's the attention to detail that makes McDonald's the best soda fountain of any fast food chain, most places just plug in their syrup canisters and take off for the races, McDonald's has custom tweaks that make the product better, I'll hit McDonald's drive-thru for drinks instead of buying them if I opt for something else to go.
McDonalds is the best but Sonic has great fountain drinks too, its their crown jewel.
Sonic is definitely a close second, their variety is off the chain, but they still charge twice as much. Overpriced fountain drinks really irk me, it costs about a dime to pour a large fountain drink, turn around and charge $2 or more is obscene.
Drinks are a huge profit center for them indeed. That's why every meal combo includes a drink....even with free refills, they make a mint. Their profits suffer when you only order a sandwich....fries and drinks are both dirt cheap. Think about it....what kind of deal do you think McDonald's gets on potatoes?
I also love Sonic's shakes....mmmm, one sounds really good about now actually! Now Sonic's food on the other hand....
There are two kinds of Coca-Cola fans: those who love it best from the can, and those who can’t pass up a fresh, carbonated soda machine. If you’re the latter, then you might know that McDonald’s truly has the best Coke on tap, if you will, in the country. How do they manage that?
Well, AskMen decided to dig a little deeper and find out just why McDonald’s has the best Coke on tap from any fast food chain. The answer? McDonald’s tries extremely hard to ensure that every single dispense of Coke is the perfect dispense. Here’s how they do it.
1. To begin, it’s all about that fizz. Hey, if you’re going to splurge a bit and have a Coke, you might as well get the best carbonation factor you can find. The soda water is always between “33 to 38 degrees. McDonald’s keeps it circulating through insulated tubing.”
2. The chilly water combines with pre-chilled Coca-Cola syrup, whose amount is scientifically determined based on how much ice could melt in a drink over time.
3. McDonald’s doesn’t cheat the system, either. They use the prescribed syrup amount from the soda giant themselves.
4. Coke syrup is delivered in stainless steel containers versus the other method of plastic bags. The stainless steel works to preserve the integrity of the syrup without sacrificing taste.
5. McDonald’s also installed some of the best water filtration systems on the market today, saying, “In order to ensure our drinks are always meeting a gold standard, we have proper filtration methods in place.”
6. And the final reason? McDonald’s wide straws ensure maximum Coca-Cola fizz to tongue contact, meaning your taste buds experience more Coke per every sip, making it taste even richer.
Most if not all fast food soda's use HFCS which is even worse than sugar. Root beer tastes better than coke or pepsi.
This is an apt discussion right now for me. I just had Subway. I love Subway. I love the Italian B.M.T. but their Fountain Coke taste like shit. Watery and flat.
