After the first bullet destroyed the shielding between the lowest part of the windshield and the metal plate under it, there seemed to be a small gap where the following two bullets could have gone clean through and hit him with full force if the shooter's aim had faltered. Good thing that the guy shot accurately, though whatever material that part of the shielding was made of probably would have been as good as nothing in the first place.
