What is your favorite song?

Any of you fools have an actual "favorite song"? I have several songs that just make me wanna wreck something like More Than A Feeling by Boston, Shake A Leg by AC/DC, Seasons In The Abyss by Slayer, Trippin' by Godsmack(quite a variety I know).

Love Will Tear Us Apart by Joy Division. It's aching in its poignancy, both as an ode to the desperation of trying to keep hold on a failing relationship (as lead singer Ian Curtis had been trying to manage with wife Deborah) and also as effectively Ian's suicide note.

No way I could choose one favorite song. Songs and music are all about mood to me.

For the EMPEROR!!
There's just too many to choose from. Whether it's an oldie or something new you've discovered, or something that reminds you of a certain time or place, I'd be hard pushed to pick a top 20 let alone top one.

However in the spirit of the thread I'll choose "Radioactive" by Imagine Dragons. Because that's in all (at the top actually) of my playlists at the moment.

So many, but to pick just one, Pink Floyd doing Run Like Hell would be it. Saw Roger Waters playing it live at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto a couple of years back, absolutely the best of the whole "Wall" set, magical. Have to also give a nod to "Mother" from the same concert. After the line "Mother can I trust the government?", giant words flashed on the half-completed wall saying "No Fucking Way!".

Sounds like it makes me weird then that despite loving thousands of songs, I can so easily say what my favourite is. Simple, it's down to what stirs you most, and I can quantify that. Certain songs just "do it" more than every other. I'm not sure I could do a top 10 or even 5, but I can damn sure do my top 3 -

(3) The Smiths - There Is A Light That Never Goes Out
(2) Depeche Mode - Enjoy The Silence
(1) Joy Division - Love Will Tear Us Apart (as above)

I don't even have to think about it.

Don't judge me.

You were 10 when My Sacrifice was featured prominently on WWF TV, so it makes perfect sense to me.

< big wall of artists/song titles>

The only artists / songs on this list that I don't actively like are the small number I don't know, but otherwise.....

1) Cinema Show-Genesis
2) And You And I-Yes
3) Sheep-Pink Floyd

Tut tut Stiffy (says Harpsman sounding like the computer geek out of The Office) - Love Will Tear Us Apart by Joy Division;)

Too many songs to mention, but the most played song on my ipod is "100 Years From Now" by The Byrds.

I know. Typo. See my above post where I got it right. Every time I pass through Macc I go and stand outside Ian's house.

That'll teach me to try and multi-twisk * , mistakles are bound to creap inn.

I've never been able to narrow it down to one and my car is littered with "Ultimate Driving Tunes" discs that I've burned over the years. My most recent "Ultimate Driving Tunes" features Matchbox Twenty, Jimi Hendrix, Queensryche, John Mellencamp, AC/DC, and Bruce Hornsby, there's a few others on there, but I can't remember them all. I'm already putting together my next Ultimate Driving Tunes list, I want some tunes built around discordant and tritone chords, eerie and echoing songs, like the intro to Come As You are, but I'm definitely not a Nirvana fan, if you build a bandwagon I will not be there.
