I just watched Tootsie for the first time...It was fucking great...

Makes me wish Hollywood was putting out films like that instead of crap we are getting...

Dark Night of the Scarecrow: Just as good as I remembered it. This was a favorite of mine as a kid..I think my dad recorded it on VHS and I watched it over and over.

That being said, I also watched After.Life and it was God awful. It tried to be many thing, but failed at all. It also shoved in every horror and thriller cliche that you could think of. You can literally see where the director and writer are thinking that they're being clever, but it never works. It's a shame because Ricci and Neeson, along with the initial concept, could have worked.

As bad as it is, there are some great scenes with Ricci sans clothes. Lots of boobs and ass shots....at times it's as if you're staring at a Katie Fey (Jenya) shoot. But I'm sure you can find those scenes online without suffering through this mess.

i watched the book of Eli for the first time yesterday that was a good movie

I bought a boxset of 10 SCI-FI movies from Amazon for £5.69p and I have watched 6 out of the 10 so far. Althought, technically I have seen 7 of them as I own one of them already on DVD by its self.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sci-Fi-10-movies-DVD/dp/B002V0CQRC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1292854765&sr=8-1

The ones I have watched in the boxset:

Time Cop.
Black Moon Rising.
The Sender.
Cyborg Cop.
Cyborg Cop 2.
Cyborg Cop 3.

The ones I have yet to see in the boxset:

The Salena Incident.
Moon 44.
APEX (the movie I already own on DVD).
Earth Alien.

If it turns out all 10 are good then it is a BARGAIN indeed.

"Oldboy" and currently watching "Save The Green Planet" a south korean movie evening I think. :)
Oldboy was awesome!!! Haven't seen Save the Green Planet...I just read about it on Wikipedia and it looks pretty good. Does South Korea have any other good films you would suggest?

I would recommend Bong Joon-ho's movies -

Memories of Murder
The Host
Mother

Kim Ji-woon's -

A Tale of Two Sisters
A Bittersweet Life
The Good, the Bad, the Weird

& of course everything by Park Chan-wook, the director of Oldboy.
