UHF
Forgot that Victoria Jackson was quite attractive 20 years ago.
Haha, I've had my DVD of that for years! One of the first things I ordered via Amazon, actually, as I remember. :1orglaugh
I'm honestly not the world's biggest Weird Al Yankovic fanatic, but I do genuineally enjoy his much older Scotti-Bros Records output (the first three albums), and his early music videos. The shot in Hell (actually Tulsa, Oklahoma) as the late/great Bill Hicks would say film is indeed a noteable cult classic. Defintely my type of pop-culture poop. If you have the DVD I can show you where all the "Easter Eggs" are. Found'em when I first got the disc because I heard rumors online. Only took around forty minutes of clicking around to nail'em all.
But I do enjoy the film an unusual amount for someone like me, who is mostly only into stand-up comedy as a comedic artform (for some reason I LOVE & ADORE movies as an artform, and yet most traditional "comedies" with they're running gags, seemingly do little for me. Go figure). And indeed: Victoria Jackson during the '80s and even some of the early '90s but especially during her SNL and the UHF and Casual Sex (with Lea Thompson) years WAS indeed an unusual hottie.
I even dig that voice. Too bad she never really did nudity. And I was so saddened to see her a few years back on Celebrity Fit Club. What a depressing show. But yeah, UHF is a super silly, cool little movie. Was just so weird to re-watch it about a year and a half ago and I had almost forgotten Michael "career has been over since that infamous night in the Laugh Factory" Richards was in it. You just gotta wonder how we can all look at "Stanly Spadowski" after that.
