What is the latest good film you watched ?

Ichi the Killer. Never saw it before and I didn't really care for it and I am usually a pretty big fan of Japanese flicks. The story in and of itself wasn't bad but it's nothing I haven't seen before. There were more then a few scenes that made me uncomfortable. I am not really into torture porn or sado-masicism so those themes where lost on me.There was not one single character in it that I liked (Ichi was a perverted weakling).

"Son, we live in a world that has walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with guns. Whose gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinburg? I have a greater responsibility than you could possibly fathom. You weep for Santiago, and you curse the marines. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know. That Santiago's death, while tragic, probably saved lives. And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves lives. You don't want the truth because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that wall, you need me on that wall. We use words like honor, code, loyalty. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punchline. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said thank you, and went on your way, Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a weapon, and stand a post. Either way, I don't give a damn what you think you are entitled to."

See I love the movie. But unless you are a fan of ultra-violence Takashi Miike's horror movies are not for you. Oddly though he does a lot of kids stuff as well. Takashi Miike will pretty much make a movie for any script thrown at him as long as he can fund it. Look up his resume. It is insane.

Speaking of Torture Porn. The movie "The Torture Room". I really liked the movie, but the pictures of George W. Bush kept me from loving it. I get it Bush is evil, blah blah blah. Hate to break it to you, but every president ever has had torture under his regime. We just usually send them to Egypt.

But outside the political message "The Torture Room" is a fucked up movie and anyone who likes Torture Porn movies, I would suggest it to you.

It is just fucked up. Fucked up.
