The storm clouds have temporarily parted over the Broncos. The NFL's most heartless coach has felt the axe that he has so effortlessly weilded so many times.
Shanahan failed to keep up with the game and didn't do needed research on his picks. Instead, he thought it was all about Shanahan. That idea never worked without Elway. They only won one play off game after Elway left.
Interestingly, there is talk of Elway replacing Shanahan. But then, there have many great athletes who were mediocre coaches.
