Hey,
I'm wondering what your thoughts are on DP. By DP I ofcourse mean the Difference Principle of Rawls' Theory of Justice.
To refresh your memory, these are the principles of Rawls:
First: each person is to have an equal right to the
most extensive scheme of equal basic liberties
compatible with a similar scheme of liberties for
others.
Second: social and economic inequalities are to be
arranged so that they are both:
(a) reasonably expected to be to everyone’s advantage,
and;
(b) attached to positions and offices open to all.
1. Freedom
2 a. Fraternity
2 b. Equality
2a. Is ofcourse the DP, which is the result of the maximin strategy.
To me this maximin strategy sounded kind of arbitrairy, because no knowledges of risk makes sure that no calculation can be made...
What are your thoughts?
Regards,
Simon
