Hey Guys,

Guess I'll be bothering you again with a random poll. This time I'm interested in your opinion on values. How would you order the following three values on importance for you personally?

Freedom
- A tricky concept, but relates to issues like formal freedom, effective freedom, autonomy, doing what one wants etc. depending on your view on the following x,y,z: x is free from y to z.

Equality
- Altough equality in the egalitarian sense on outcomes is a little bit out of fashion since the fall of communism, I think everyone here agrees on a certain egalitarian plateau: equality as citizens, right?

Community
A nice warm and fuzzy concept and nobody exactly knows what the other means by it. Try to think of ****** values, critique of egoist values and so on.

For me personally the order of importance is exactly like presented here, Freedom is the natural right of anyone. When equality comes into play, our freedom is restricted so that my freedom can't harm yours (I can't **** or steal from you). Lastly, by accepting each other as equals it's important to try to reach to common good, rather then the aggregated good of all.
No Community without Equality, and no Equality without Freedom for me.

What do you think about this?

Where is freedom freedom freedom ?

Whats less free and more free? free is free

Ofcourse not, you might be free to express yourself, like in the West. Or you might be jailed for it (and loose your freedom totally) in China.
Then i suppose it would be valid to say 'freedom' of speech doesn't exist in China.

If you want to have the last word , i will let you since this is your thread. Have fun!

Look at it as opportunity. Now you can say new, baby kitten (or maybe Spreeuw himself) without appearing the be the softy you are.:angels:

@ OP
Community doesn't mean much without some reasonable degree of freedom (see jails), freedom is less worthwhile without justice ...("equality" in this case...I suppose there's not much daylight between the two on a theoretical level.)
