Water fluoridation

I remember my mother going batty about this when I was growing up. All part of the insidious plots.

It would probably explain why everyone but me has sparkling clean healthy teeth. (I didn't grow up in the States).

''Sodium fluoride is classed as toxic by both inhalation (of dusts or aerosols) and ingestion.[8] In high enough doses, it has been shown to affect the heart and circulatory system, and the lethal dose for a 70 kg human is estimated at 5–10 g.''

I don't mind having the shit in my mouth when brushing and all, but the idea that I would be ingesting the stuff with regularity doesn't sit right with me, that's why I have been using sourced spring water for the last 15 sum odd years

Sourced spring water that is untreated for pathogens, organic contaminants and dissolved solids? Hmmmm.....I would hope not, Facetious. Sourced spring water sounds real healthy....that ain't necessarily so any any means. I hope you have this water tested by a lab on a regular basis. There are also a number of really good water filters that can purify water to very exacting standards. That's what I do with my tap water and I can guarantee you that the water I drink is better than any bottled water you can buy anywhere.

^^Here here:yesyes: Bottled water - and its devastating impact on the environment (I mean plastic and glass).

The early civilizations of ancient Egypt and right up to the Roman Empire considered urine as a way to maintain healthy gums and whiten teeth. :hatsoff:

^^Thanks for the info BS:thumbsup: Learn something new/Everyday.

"Mr. President...we cannot afford a fallout cave gap!"

[Strangelove's plan for post-nuclear war survival involves living underground with a 10:1 female-to-male ratio]

General "Buck" Turgidson:
Doctor, you mentioned the ratio of ten women to each man. Now, wouldn't that necessitate the abandonment of the so-called monogamous sexual relationship, I mean, as far as men were concerned?

Dr. Strangelove:
Regrettably, yes. But it is, you know, a sacrifice required for the future of the human race. I hasten to add that since each man will be required to do prodigious... service along these lines, the women will have to be selected for their sexual characteristics which will have to be of a highly stimulating nature.

Ambassador de Sadesky:
I must confess, you have an astonishingly good idea there, Doctor.
:nanner:

Mandrake, have you ever seen a Russkie drink a glass of water?

General Jack D. Ripper:
Mandrake, have you ever seen a Commie drink a glass of water?

Group Capt. Lionel Mandrake:
Well, no, I can't say I have.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Group Capt. Lionel Mandrake:
Do I look all rancid and clotted? You look at me, Jack. Eh? Look, eh? And I drink a lot of water, you know. I'm what You Might call a water man, Jack - that's what I am. And I can swear to you, my boy, swear to you, that there's nothing wrong with my bodily fluids. Not a thing, Jackie.

General Jack D. Ripper: You know when fluoridation first began?
Group Capt. Lionel Mandrake: I... no, no. I don't, Jack.
General Jack D. Ripper: Nineteen hundred and forty-six. Nineteen forty-six, Mandrake. How does that coincide with your post-war Commie conspiracy, huh? It's incredibly obvious, isn't it? A foreign substance is introduced into our precious bodily fluids without the knowledge of the individual. Certainly without any choice. That's the way your hard-core Commie works.
Group Capt. Lionel Mandrake: Uh, Jack, Jack, listen, tell me, tell me, Jack. When did you first... become... well, develop this theory?
General Jack D. Ripper: Well, I, uh... I... I... first became aware of it, Mandrake, during the physical act of love.
Group Capt. Lionel Mandrake: Hmm.
General Jack D. Ripper: Yes, a uh, a profound sense of fatigue... a feeling of emptiness followed. Luckily I... I was able to interpret these feelings correctly. Loss of essence.
Group Capt. Lionel Mandrake: Hmm.
General Jack D. Ripper: I can assure you it has not recurred, Mandrake. Women uh... women sense my power and they seek the life essence. I, uh... I do not avoid women, Mandrake.
Group Capt. Lionel Mandrake: No.
General Jack D. Ripper: But I... I do deny them my essence.

God thats a great movie!:bowdown::1orglaugh

Which is best as far as lasting the longest ? Charcoal or paper filter media cannisters ?
I know the one inside my refer costs $36- and it is recommended that it be changed every 6 months, however I use it for a year.

At home, I drink 2 brands of water , one is a proprietary label in the 2.5 gallon size from the big west coast grocery giant "Safeway" so you know that one is good ! :pimpdaddy: ;) lol ! The other is "Crystal Geyser Spring Water" and that is in the 1 gallon size.
Both offer an exact spring source on the label. The former, if I recall correctly, is also reverse osmo filtered. When they go on sale I stock up !

I realize that there can be nasty things in any water source, but I just can't bring myself to drink the tap stuff. Every so often the authorities will get a little heavy on the chlorine content so ....:uohs: :hatsoff:

Not to appear to be a know-it-all on this subject but I happen to ply my trade in the water industry and you are exactly the kind of person that is the target of the bullshit marketing campaigns from the mega-companies who want you to think exactly the way you think. Other than taste, your "spring water" (it goes through the same FDA and EPA regulatory treatment requirements that all potable water does), has absolutely no difference between it and drinking water from a municipal water source regarding health and safety. All municipal water in the USA is perfectly safe to drink....you may choose to drink better tasting water than they provide (which I do) but if you choose to buy the bottled shit at Safeway you are a (no personal attack intended) chump and are throwing your money away.

Think about it....corporate giants stumble upon a convenient marketing scheme to sell vast quantities of overpriced WATER (it costs more per gallon that gasoline does)??? It's a dream come true for these greedy assholes. They don't give a flying fuck about your health or the environment!

DO NOT buy bottled water from the corporate pirates who only have profit as a motive for providing their bullshit and ecologically-unfriendly products! You can make much better tasting and chlorine-free water at home with your city-provided tap water if you just take the time and effort to do so. Trust me on this one, Facetious. I know what I am talking about.

I love how people are continually bashing the tap water, granted water fluoridation cannot be healthy for us either, and we wonder why the cancer rate is so high. Fluoride is fine for cleaning your teeth, but its not meant to be ingested because it is toxic. Also, bottled water, THAT is a the biggest bullshit story. First of all the bottled water does not have the same regulations on it and many times I've heard the quality of the bottled water is actually WORSE than the tap water. And since when do we have to PAY for water? Granted we pay for the water coming to our homes, but then we are going to be stupid enough to pay for water AGAIN? Other than the plastics effect on the environment, the plastic that these the bottled water is made from should be thrown away when you are done with it and not reused. Because if you reuse one of those bottles some of the chemicals that the bottle is made from starts to break down and get in the water or whatever you put in it and then you ingest it...nice
