was 1966 the best year for music ever?

i always thought 1966 was a great year for pop music but i also thought that music was just pop until 1967. i thought that 1967 was the year music became serious. but thanks to wikipedia i now realize that most of the great albums of 1967 were actually recorded in 1966. the doors 1st album (including "the end"), white rabbit (and the rest of surrealistic pillow), the velvet underground's 1st album and jimi hendrix's 1st album were all recorded well before sgt. pepper. also blonde on blonde and frank zappa's debut. in addition to the awesome music on the radio at the time
