So last night my laptop got infected by a variant of the Blaster Worm. It would not let me open iexplorer or google chrome, or even task manager. Then it downloaded a spyware app asking me to give it my credit card number to uninstall it. Even worse it tried to multiply by sending itself out to random IP Addresses!
However...
I was able to restart in safe mode and use System Restore to reboot to an earlier configuration.
Now everything is back to normal.
