VR porn: How accessible is it? Thoughts?

I see VR on many of the bigger sites out there. What I wonder is, how accessible/affordable is the VR devices?
Are sites offering to send them along with memberships as upsells?
Are they expecting them to grab a VR device on Amazon first?
Is VR really 'taking off'? If so, is it headed in the direction of 3D and its eventual downfall. (At least in the mainstream).

What are you thoughts? I'd like to learn more.

It's taking off. It's still young, but this is going to be big.

I'm currently waiting for a nice, affordable, non-facebook, non-google affiliated VR set for myself. I'm even pitching in for this amazing sounding VR game. Yes, its a dirty one. Fap.


But yeah, I really think this will continue to blow up. The tech will move and advance so fast, we're in for a bumpy ride.

You have people like BadoinkVR who help you get the free cardboard stuff. Some of the good sites let you know what devices for for best for their site too.

VR Bangers has a nice "how to watch" area that has more info on specifics which is nice. There others, but I'm trying to remember who else had a breakdown on what works...

There are sites that send out a cardboard viewer for free, like BadoinkVR, when you subscribe to their site.
You do need a (smart)phone to download and view videos with it though and you usually need an special video app that can handle VR videos but they are available in the Google playstore and apple's itunes store.

Of course the user experience of watching a VR video on your phone with a cardboard VR viewer is completely different then a real headset set like the Oculus or the Playstation headset in terms of how immersive the quality of the experience is. But with a cheap or free cardboard viewer you can at least try it out and sort of get a feeling of what these videos are like and it will cost you nothing or almost nothing (for the viewer).

If VR is going to be successful in the long run is hard to say, it is still a relatively new thing that is still being developed.
I guess it also depends on the content that is available, not just porn but any content.

I think VR has the potential to be huge, a PoV experience with your favourite pornstar who wouldn't want that?! History has shown that a technology's ability to be useful to the adult industry goes a long way to establish it as a mainstream success (vhs, DVDs, even the internet).

I agree with Regina - The quality of the content and having the time needed to grow will be the two key factors, for instance in the 3D case a lot of the content doesn't greatly add to the experience or is just poor and manufacturers such as Toshiba and Samsung were already thinking about VR so it was almost dead before started.

I have both the Oculus Rift and PSVR. Games like Resident Evil 7, Eve Valkrie, Lucky's Tale, Arkham VR, Rush of Blood, Battle Zone, VR Worlds, and VR Playroom are amazing in VR as well as flying an x-wing in Battlefront which has a VR experience. Lucky's Tale is only available on Oculus Rift but it is an amazing game. I have watched some amazing VR videos on an app called Within where it feels like you are sitting in the audience on a Saturday Night Live Q and A with Jerry Seinfeld hosting. That was pretty good. As well as flying over Los Vegas looking down from a helicopter on Hulu which I did that on the Rift. VR is going to be great when it takes off.

As far as porn goes, its amazing. My personal favorite video is with Mia Malkova at Naughty America where she is playing host at a New Year's Eve party and you are her special guest. She gives you a tour of the place and then her and 3 other girls start having sex with you. Another scene I liked was you are at a beach and you feel like you really are there. There is this girl talking to you leading up to a porn scene but I was really mostly interested at being at the freaking beach with the waves rushing in at your feet. That was really awesome. Hologirls had a scene with Bree Daniels which I really liked. Wankz VR has a fun christmas scene called Santa's Wankshop which was pretty funny. Reality Lovers has a scene with Linda Sweet if you like her or redheads in general.

I love both my VR headsets and not disappointed in getting either one. PSVR is great for games and Rift is great for porn and videos. I got a good deal before Christmas on a Cyberpower PC that came with the Rift for a thousand dollars. There are deals out there just look around.

I disagree with Adam about Hollywood being the future of VR, I think games have a much better chance to push the whole VR experience since it is interactive.

Oh, I'm just saying that they will end up utilizing it which will further push the development of the technology. Yes, I think games and porn will be the bigger ticket.

Many sites? No not really. Only two major sites are using it extensively right now, Kink.com and Naughty America. Naughty America is highly promoting it. Though, Manwin/Mindgeek hasn't even considered it. Their network includes, Brazzers, Reality Kings, Mofos, Digital Playground, Wicked Pictures, Erito, Fake Hub, Twistys, Babes, and Playboy Plus. Once they do, then maybe you'll see more studios into it. It will be another excuse for them to raise the monthly membership fees another $5.00 to $8.00 a month more. I personally think it's over the top. I'm perfectly comfortable with HD 4K, HD 1080p, and HD 720p and even HD 480.

I saw an Ava Addams video at NA, without the "Gazoo" helmet on; you see two eye holes on the screen, the sound is coming from a place you don't expect it to come from, and the overall bottom line my impressions of it -- it gave me a headache. So I hope the concept fails.

I love the games and the porn is really great so I am back in forth between the two. I look at it like we are in the Nintendo 8 bit system era right now so I look for it to get better. If you don't have the money for it right now or don't want to get it right now, you are not missing out too much but I look for it to get better.

I think Porn has grabbed VR by the horns and doing great things with it right now as well as video game companies with motion controllers. Hollywood does not seem to be messing with it right now that much. There are some animated shorts that are fun to watch like Invasion but not really that much out there yet. I would love to see travel documentries where they take those cameras into places like the Grand Canyon and Rocky Mountains with the Immersion that Naughty America can deliver where you can feel like you are reliving your vacations. Like I said with some of the porn scenes with scenery in the background, I find myself ignoring the action and looking beyond like out a hotel window at the buildings and not paying attention to the person in front of me on the beach but looking at the waves rushing at me.

I wish I had a VR camera and the know how and the money and I would go out filming this stuff that I am talking about. I bet I would make a killing.

I have an Oculus Rift but I have tried Gear VR too. I would just say the quality/experience of a Oculus Rift, HTV Vive, or PSVR is going to be so, so much better than any mobile VR solution.

You do not get the full immersion in PSVR watching porn. I'll try to explain, when you watch something in true vr you get two of the same scenes side by side, one for each eyeball. One is a little different then the other but its the same thing side by side. When you put the goggles on then your brain process it as one thing you are looking at making you feel you are seeing it in 3D. Making you feel like you are there. With PSVR videos which you have to download to play on that, you just get one image not side by side.

Go to VirtualRealPorn.com and scroll down to the part that says download a free video. Its called Your Neighbors and You. Click on that and download the PSVR video of it and the Oculus version of it. Its free and should not cost you anything. Once its downloaded, go ahead and play it on whatever player you use on your computer. The PSVR should just be one video while the Oculus version should be two of the same scene playing side by side. You will see what I mean. You can watch this video just not in VR.

Games are real immersive in PSVR. I love playing RE 7, Rush of Blood, and VR Playroom. Just not that great watching porn. Oculus has some good games as well but its expensive. I got Robo Recall and its a pretty cool shooter. Hopefully Sony will pull their heads out of their ass one day and allow full immersion through their gear while watching porn but who knows.

Until VR gets to the point where it can be experienced with glasses a headset that doesn't weigh more than my normal glasses right now. Wearing a heavy, bulky headsets just throws me off.
