Apparently, he got booted from a couple of homeless shelters (isn't it great to know that Grand Rapids even NEEDS more than one homeless shelter?) because they are located too close to schools. So he's dead now.

Thomas Pauli, a 52 year old homeless man, froze to death in Grand Rapids last January because he couldn't get into either of the downtown shelters.

20 years ago Pauli molested a girl under age 13.

He served 11 years in prison.

Because the Mel Trotter Shelter and the Guiding Light Mission are both within 1,000 feet of a school, the convicted sex offender could not spend the night.

"The law states sex offenders cannot reside within 1,000 feet of a school and we are within 1,000 feet of a school," explains Rev. Ralph Collins of Mel Trotter Ministries.

I know he's the lowest scum of the earth for what he did but I still feel for him for having no place to live and ended up frozen to death. I mean the local churches could have extended a hand to him and give him shelter. In any case I am sure he's not the only sex offender who's homeless.

Is there one less child molester because he is dead? His crime was 20 years ago, most sex offenders once caught do not reoffend - will have to look up this to get exact figures but even the Minister of Justice here in Ireland said this last week. So he was a child molestor 20 years ago, he probably was not one the time he died. People do change.

The person most likely to kill a child is ..... the child's mother. Yes, about half of child killings are done by the mother.
