Van Halen cancel tour

Just read that Van Halen have postponed all their summer tour dates.Never saw that happening.Apparently the band have been arguing and fighting like mad.It was just a matter of time.

You don't say....

Damn. There go 2 days of work.

Jesus, what the fuck? I read somewhere that the band "hates each other."

What the fuck does that mean? 3/4ths of the current lineup are Van Halen family members. I can't imagine they hate each other, which means that they all hate DLR, and he probably hates them back?

You know what, it doesn't matter anyway. I saw their show in April. They don't have Michael Anthony's vocals anymore, so it's not really a pure VH show. But bigger than that, this whole band was built around a youthful verve and acrobatic, over the top showmanship, and DLR just can't pull that off anymore. Largely it's because his voice just doesn't have the range that it used to, but VH used to be all about a sense of danger and wildness. EVH still plays like a wizard, but the whole band is sober, they have EVH's kid with them, and the "edge" is just not there.

They blew it by fighting so much in the 80s that they had to split up. Anything produced by any of them after 1984 is not really Van Halen, it's a reformatted group. They will never re-capture what they had, and it's not just because they fight with each other.

Nearly all of them are getting mailings from AARP. At what point can we not have the maturity to make a half billion dollar tour. Ain't like they haven't done it before. What the fuck do they have to do? Pose for some pictures. Do some promo interviews. Show up, sing and play, cut the money. Other people do the rest. Do they want the money? Do they want to keep the music living? Shit or get off the pot guys. Take up golf and collect your residual checks.

If you would have seen them at their prime then you would be as old as me and you don't want that.

this isn't news. news would be them actually being a functional band and actually pulling of a successful tour...

I saw them during their prime..actually the first concert I ever went to when i was in like the 8th or 9th grade...right before they went "commercial" with the 1984 album, followed shortly after by the Sammy Hagar era...I can't imagine a better first concert to attend...absolutely amazing...Incredible solos by Eddie, Alex and Mark Anthony...and David Lee Roth gave an unparalled stage performance.

I've been blessed to see alot of great concerts. but Van Halen, at that time, had to be the best. I kind of lost interest in them after Hagar joined in '85...They made some decent music after that, but nothing compared to their earlier stuff IMO.
