Here's just one for you.

The nazis killed 6 millions jews and invaded the whole Europe, they pillaged villages, raped women, killed people who were not sympathizing with them during 5 years. Nazis even butchered people who dared to commit an act of resistance, they were beheaded on the public place. "Atrocious acts" (as you describe it) comitted against nazis by US and British troops can be justified, because Nazis killed a lot of American and British Soldiers during D-Day. Even in Soviet Russia, the partisans and the Red Army were beheading ss officers with an axe because of the horror and the more than horrible crimes the ss divisions committed during the occupation of Russia. There is a thing you will never understand, which is irreparable damage. When you have lost friends and family because of a common ennemy, you can't have feelings, you just have more hate and will to kill the ennemy.You have never faced war and you have never put your life on the line, you don't know what irreparable damage is.

Yes I gave them all congrats. It was the polite thing to do and hope for the best. But I have read many of his posts and I knew and many others knew he is not suitable for this type of position.

Yeah, I don't see how the closure of this thread was really necessary. I know we're supposed to 'leave the moderating up to the moderators' but I feel STD has a valid point in raising this. It wasn't as though someone who couldn't speak English started the thread. It was started by native English speakers who were just having a bit of fun with the native languages of some of our OCSM's - which was made abundantly clear right at the start of the thread. Also when you look at it, the majority of the thread is in English.....

I don't see anything wrong with that.

But my opinion means nothing so who cares..... :dunno:

I had a feeling that it was going to be closed. If the thread was just a thread to ask help with translations, but some people like shaotaim were just posting posts in another language, and that's it. The entire point of the thread was to post things in another language to see if people could translate it, and people were replying in another language. Not surprising it got closed.

the thread was in english... in fact it was about translating foreign languages into english... ah well. in the end, who cares? this is just one of many forums on the intarwebz, and if the powers that be feel we need a moderator like that then so be it... i have been spending a lot less time here recently than i usually do anyway, i'm getting kinda bored. always the same bait/fake controversy threads, a guy asking about whether sucking cock is gay, and randomness. meh.

Just as the rules state, official language of freeones is english. Nothing un-clear about that. I think the thread was closed because it's like he said, it needed to be before it got out of control. That rule was made for a reason and everytime someone posts something that's not in english the moderators have to edit it out, right? Well how would you like it if you came into threads on this site frequently where there were people talking in a language other then english? Well that's what would happen if the mods didn't stay on top of it.

Since I am still able to post I thought I'd leave a reply to the messages above.

The lost and found thread was just a bit of fun and a challenge to find people who speak ENGLISH and another language to leave messages. Sure you will always get a few people who will not or can not follow the rules but in this case I would just ignore them. For example you could start a thread asking members to name their all time favorite porn star and you will always get a handful of people who will post a list of twenty or more. That's not a good enough reason to close a thread, is it? Also I read another thread where lots of messages were posted in French. This thread has has been running for more than 4 months. Why didn't the moderators close it? My guess is because closing it would be pointless. It's not causing a problem to anyone.

English is the only language I speak and almost every post and thread in this board is and will be in english because that is the most common language used "internationally" on the web.

Why wasn't it closed before? Because George wasn't a moderator. That's why. And his name is George now. This is an English speaking site, so I'm calling him by his English name. Georges sounds foreign to me. Wouldn't want any multiculturalism would we?
