I am ON Facebook. I asked some one whom I've known for 18 years to be my friend, but they said no. Some friend they turn out to be.

Yeah. I had a friend on FB, from College, that now ignores me flat. My profile is fine. Check. I sent her stuff I actually paid for for her Farmville. Check. I approached several friends of my own so she could have neighbours. Check. I treat her with respect and dignity. Check.

Now she avoids me like I am diseased at college. She actually up and moved away to another station. Too professional for me, or too ladida or something.

I have been so cut up about it, I mentioned it to another friend I have known for many years, who also is on FB. Together we have reunited almost our entire school class, plus set up quite a network of friends.

She said to forgive and move on. Fortunately she also posted something about forgiveness a few days earlier, so I was more receptive than I would have been otherwise, having had time to mull that concept over some more.

Well, I have simply hidden all her posts. I almost cut her off, but decided against it. Burning bridges and all that kind of thing.

Still, it hurt like hell and stings. Forgive, learn and be more cautious in future. One thing is for certain, it will take a very special woman to get me in a relationship.

Oh by the way, I sent a request to Gianna Michaels. I would dearly have loved to have her as a FB friend, but I am also friends with a young 'un and people and family with kids. Funny that the captcha I had to complete was 'badinger'. I had to think twice about it, so went and canceled it.

I never cared much for Facebook. I'm pretty young as you can see, and a lot of communities for teens were starting a few years ago when I was in school. Everyone, including myself, had accounts on the "community of the month" where they collected friends. Then all of this settled for a while, until Facebook came along. It was like a second round of all that.

I can see why some people like it, but to me it's just typical zeitgeist of today. You're there to promote yourself, collect friends and appear interesting. Or stalk lol.
In reality, most people aren't very interesting. They work a little, fuck a little and drink a little. Maybe go somewhere that's unusual and exotic (like Thailand or South Africa) and conclude how wonderful that country is when you're staying in a hotel and meeting other white people who speak english.

To each their own, but you shouldn't get too fixated on who you are on Facebook. Most of those people you never see in real life anyways.
