I respect you and xfire a great deal. But that respect does not come without it's disagreements. Yes, we get sidetracked but we are starting to be able to slam on the breaks and head in the intended direction much easier than in the past. I am expressing my opinions on the subject or subjects. They are only opinions, if I wanted full agreement with everything I say, I would post them on boards with like minded people. But I really don't get anything out of atta boys and high fives all the time.

So...this reminds me...and I'll take a turn tangentially....I was shaving this morning and was half listening to one of the cable news networks and heard a commercial asking for donations to a charity that provides food and some sort of comfort service to folks who are moving to Israel or are displaced for some reason. They mentioned that the Israel budget is stretch and a good % needs to go towards defense. They were asking for donations and said that they will give families food in a box and will also include a note of encouragement letting the recipient know that they were being supported by "Christians and Jewish people in the United States". hmmm...I wasn't paying attention until I heard that and thought why not just say "Good folks from the US" or "Humanitarians from the US".

That commercial was by the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews. It was aimed at Christians in America who support Israel. Though I'm sure they'd welcome donations from otherwise.
Same here. Echo chambers are boring. At least when confronted with opposing viewpoints you're forced to defend your position. And I'm not adverse to changing my mind in light of evidence. If I were, I'd still be liberal.
