The Incredible Hulk

Can't be any worse than the first movie which I didn't think was all THAT bad, i'm not saying it was great, but I have seen a heck of a lot worse....Spawn for one has to be one of the worst comic book movies, right up there with that huge shit burger Batman & Robin

the first one didnt exactly appeal to a wide audience.... too much time was spent on the development of the character.... way less than spidey.. who just jumped around from building to building... spraying his shit web around... and that was IT? the rest was all GOOD vs EVIL..

the hulk is a bit more complex character....

having said that... i also said that a sequel to the first one would gross a lot more money... cuz the "development" phase is over.... its all SMASH/BASH time.. which is what what 90% the ppl go to see

Special effects were slightly worse in those days. :1orglaugh

Remember "Special Effects" pre-Star Wars & Close Encounters....?

 :1orglaugh

i think it will be good. edward norton is very good. i loved louis leterrier's directing on the transporter movies. and according to most articles, they intend to go for a straight comic book adaptation. i feel ang lee's use of "oriental storytelling" was a poor choice for such a western story. (i have the utmost respect for his work and it was a brave, if strange, experiment. he should have tried it on a non-blockbuster movie).

zak penn writing looks wack, though

as far as the original(and i know it wasn't the original, but as far as recent times) is concerned, it was horrible. and that was with eric bana, whom i think was perfect for the role.
while norton is a phenomenal actor, i don't know how he'll play as the hulk. it'll all boil down to the screenplay and the director. the character already has expectation to be met.

If he spends more time going "HULK SMASH!" And there's far less time spent on "puny Banner" then the movie might be good.

They also need to get Peter David to write the screen play I say. :)

I never really thought of the hulk as a complex character. he's just a dude that gets big and green and smashes shit when he's pissed off. I mean what can you really do that hasn't been done?

The problem was Ang Lee, who wanted to make an Oscar worthy movie! His styling of the movie to make it look like a live comic book and long ass storyline was what killed it. Seeing Hulk smashing those tanks and helicopter was awesome and its sad but punny Banner has to be part of the storyline. Hopefully critics are not going to scare the companies from producing another Hulk, by the way Spawn is not that bad.

Where is Lou Ferrigno when you need him. :1orglaugh

No doubt. 6'5" and c275lbs.... no animation, no computers, no f/x.

Norton has always been a weasel in my book. I don't understand who's casting this guy. :crash:
