Stay up all night, on an occasion when you're free the next day, stay awake all day, then go to sleep at night, and then maintain a fixed sleeping pattern thereafter.

Although, I also think Bloodshot Scott's right, to knacker yourself out physically is in my opinion, probably your best bet!

By the way have you tried counting sheep yet?

Maybe not Herb Brooks style, but I am always usually pretty drained from playing hockey. That always takes a lot out of me. And on, I really want to count the number of times I punch you squarely in the dick.

Maybe try not to eat food or drink drinks that keep your brain active in the evening and eat something or drink drinks that relax your brain.

You're a meenie? I was trying to give advice, and you just throw it back in my face like that, now I think I will have to revise my what I said to you. I think I was wrong initially, I suggest speed instead!

So nerr!!

I went through something similar at the end of last year/start of this year.......From about 5 AM December 29(Worked that day) Until like January 10 or 11 I would only sleep like 1 or 2 hours a day...I was so drained but I couldn't sleep. I had to go to work on the 11th at 5:30 AM. I finally got to sleep at around 3 AM, When my alarm went off, I said to myself "Just five more minutes" those five minutes turned into 11 hours....Best sleep I ever had.

Maybe you should take a day off from work/school and just dedicate it to relaxing.

That's what I plan to do on Saturday and Sunday after I drink my face off tonight. We'll see how it goes.

Avoid alcohol or coffee or meals after about 8pm. Turn the heating off in your bedroom and have the windows open. If you really can`t sleep get up and do something else for a while until you can`t stay awake then go to bed. If you`re disturbed by noise keep some foam earplugs by the bed. If you wake up thinking about something you don`t want to forget the next day, write it down.

Yeah I can do all of that except the alcohol part.

I usually only drink on weekends, and I think after a night of heavy drinking, it puts me to sleep rather well. Or it usually does anyway. We'll see what happens. I dont' think alcohol is my problem for not being able to sleep as I haven't touched alcohol in about 2 weeks, just around the time I've been having trouble sleeping.

True. Binging really is a killer.

get rid of the alcohol for a few days, and look into taking tylenol PM...it's non habit forming.

if that doesn't work, stay up for 2 days without any sleep at all. not even a 1 hr nap or anything, just stay awake. by the time the 2nd night rolls around your body will welcome all the rest it can get, and you should sleep for a bit longer.

and I also heard try not to watch tv 30 mins before bed. the sounds and lights stimulate your brain, making it much more difficult to calm down

SN4P3 you obviously didn't read my entire story and thats alright.

Here's my tonight story... Came back from having a couple shots and a couple beers, I was a little buzzed not drunk. Got back to my place around 2 or so. Fell asleep immediately, just woke up around 4. So 2 hours of sleep, and now feeling wide awake again. wtf.

I think I might get Melatonin. I looked into it a bit more, the reviews are good. Might stop by the store tomorrow to get some.

Sleep was great last night. I know I dreamed but I don't remember of what.

Got some melatonin today. We'll see what happens...
