It's messed up, but they'll toss him a little seven figure check to make up for things.

more like 32k
the payout for this is normally pretty low. Note the very low amount of outrage this causes.

He's supposed to get $84k/ year for 30 years(tax free) which is approximately 2.5 million dollars.(I've known some in other states to get NOTHING basically)

I must admit that's a generous/fair payout , BUT I would prefer having those 30 years of freedom even at minimum wage.

Duke Lacrosse & Kobe(who never served 1 day in jail) generated a lot of emotions/anger, but these guys(44 of them) in Texas don't for some reason:dunno:

How anyone could support the death penalty after 44 guys in one state alone since 2001 are released after being wrongly convicted?

What I admire most about these guys is that they don't seem to be extremely bitter (they are reasonably angry to a degree) like I imagine I would be. It would be borderline DANGEROUS to free me after I have been locked up like an ****** for 30 years for no reason.

I admired Nelson Mandela for the same reason I admire these guys who are able to forgive their captors & enjoy the remainder of their lives/freedom.
They are bigger men than I am.:hatsoff:

Ace Bandage

The one and only.
Let's be honest, he probably would have committed a crime by now anyway had he been free. If anything, the state of Texas should be applauded for keeping a potential criminal off the streets for thirty years.

this is the reason people do not seem very upset about the wrongfully accused. It`s just not possible for alot of people to think someone once in does not deserve it.

death penalty is the same way. I often hear that people don`t care if the person is innocent of the crime .
