"Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard"

*Inspired by the great Tim Tebow - winner of 2 NCAA Championships, and the first-ever Sophomore to win the Heisman...Go Broncos + God Bless :)

That image isn't showing up. What is it a t-shirt?

I'm not going to lie, his NFL QB skills are cringeworthy (until it's crunch time). But then again he has more playoff wins in Denver than his successor.

Just sayin'.

The image is him doing the Tebow pose in 2011, sitting on the bench in 2012, and walking away in 2013. His career is done. It has nothing to do with his faith, as Sam would have had us believe. It has to do with the fact that he's just a terrible NFL quarterback.

Just another prediction of Sam's that was wrong. We're chalking them up like crazy here.

He was talking about Sam's pic. What was that showing?

A media creation. No one with half a brain ever thought he'd be able to play QB in the NFL. The Broncos were incredibly stupid to waste a first round pick on him.

He's also incredibly pig-headed to insist on playing QB.

Nice guy. Sucks as a pro QB. Was the product of a system in college that was tailored to his narrow abilities, and he was surrounded by great talent.

I am not a great evaluator of NFL talent. Someone that knows more about these things please tell me why he isn't highly regarded as a player? I don't follow him that much.

He has only been in the league for 3 or 4 seasons. Certainly other players have been late bloomers and rose to the occasion. And some players have been on the sidelines before they broke out. Why isn't that a possibility for him?

It has simply been demonstrated that he does not have the skills to play quarterback. He's just plain terrible. He can't hack the pressure of the position. He shuts down. While he did okay in college, he can't do it on a professional level.

Now, he's not an untalented athlete. He likely could be NFL material at a different position, but Tebow nation has made that impossible. The hype and hysteria of his fans is intense, and affects ticket sales and merchandise sales. Denver lost a bucket of money when they let him go. They'll recover. Give it a little time, no problems. It's an unfortunate thing for him that his fans, such as Sam, are so vitriolic and persistent.

The specific criticisms of Tebow's skillset as an NFL QB are that he's not accurate, he has a slow and looping throwing motion so passes don't get there on time and prone to getting the ball stripped by pass rushers, he doesn't have good footwork on his dropbacks and he can't read coverages. That pretty much is all true.

I've followed him since his sophomore Heisman season at Florida. This guy is a gamer and is one of the all time great college QBs. The problem is the spread option offense he ran in college which for the most part requires him to make only 1 read doesn't prepare him for the pro style offenses NFL teams run and the huge leap in talent and speed of NFL defenses. He had some gutsy and clutch performances in Denver including that playoff win but the Broncos had to scrap their offense and run something akin to what he did in Florida and the results were less than ideal and just can't be sustained in the long run.

It's sad, I would've liked to have seen him develop as a QB but it does seem that his NFL career is over as simply no team wants him.

The problem is in theory anybody COULD be a late bloomer, but that seems unlikely for Tebow given his skill set. Even most late bloomers have some qualities that indicate they can become good later on, even if sometimes that's not realized until hindsight sets in. NFL teams just don't have time to mess around waiting on something that's probably not going to happen, especially when it makes them lose during that time. A better question might be, "Why should Tebow get any more chances than anybody else in his situation, of which there are countless people, when the only difference between them and Tebow is the outside notoriety that Tebow has and not their skill on the field."
