'Tea Party' for two: Few show up for protest at 2010 Detroit Auto Show

Charlie Gennara thought there would be a sizable showing for a planned "tea party" protest outside the annual international auto show in Detroit on Monday.

For the first 45 minutes, though, it was just him and one other person voicing their displeasure with the billions in aid spent by the government on General Motors, Chrysler and auto lender GMAC Financial Services.

"I didn't expect this," said Gennara, a 58-year-old retired carpenter from Northville, Mich. "Most of the tea parties I've been to I've seen 300 or a couple hundred at least."

I think that the opposition staged this event so that they can report a story about a bad turnout .... either that or "most" all of the sane people have already fled "Michiganistan". :ak47:

'has a nice ring to it, doesn't it ? :p

Racing is life... anything else is just waiting.
I might go to the NASCAR All Star race in Charlotte this year. Why don't the tea baggers try protesting down there? I'll have my video camera. Should be fun (for me).

Is anyone surprsied that a group who says "screw the auto companies" and thereby their workers would not have many followers in Detroit area?

Really some of these teabaggers seem to be willing to cut off their noses to spite their faces.Thats why their movement will fail as it ultimately is against the majoritys self interest.

:sing: The party's over.....:sing:

Thanks for playing Teabaggin' Militia :hatsoff: The "old" GOP wins in the end....

Except we aren't swimming across the river to get there.

That's just too fucking cold.:D

The good news is that, unlike our Mexican counterparts, we have a very nice bridge over our river. You're welcome to use it, though unfortunately it leads you into Windsor.

Ste Saint Marie? Are there any Canadian hotties there?

There's plenty, and the plus of going to Sault Ste. Marie is that the auto industry hasn't killed everything there like it did in Windsor.

But, alas, the bridge isn't quite as nice.

Didn't think you americans were into tea?
:dunno:

Some decent Americans enjoy tea but self-loathing in the closet homosexual NeoCons enjoy teabagging each other in bathroom stalls at airports, trucker stops and chuch!
