Taco Bell is officially one of the healthiest fast food chains

While you might not normally equate fast food with wholesome eating, there are actually options you can get from the drive thru that are on the healthier side. With menu items like the Crunchwrap Supreme and $1 Nacho Fries (we tried ’em), it may come as a surprise that Taco Bell offers up some of the healthiest options on the fast food scene. Dig a little deeper into their menu and you’ll find that there are some better-for-you options if you don’t have time to make a homemade meal. (Have time on your hands? Try these fiesta-worthy recipes for tacos, fajitas and more.)

Over the past several years, Taco Bell has positioned themselves as one of the best fast food chains for healthy food, making strides to offer customizable options across their menu for their health-conscience customers.

According to the nutrition page on their website, these are some of the quality improvements they’ve made over the past few years to their menu:

Reduced sodium across the menu by 15 percent since 2008, with a push to have a total 25 percent reduction soon
Removed artificial flavors and colors and replaced them with natural alternatives
Source 100% cage-free eggs for our breakfast menu. Will introduce 100% cage-free egg ingredients into our core menu in 2018.
Serve chicken raised without antibiotics important to human medicine in U.S. restaurants
While these options and improvements are great, and definitely a step toward healthier eating, it’s largely up to the customer to customize smart choices, like ordering vegetarian or vegan options, or calorie-cutting with their ‘Fresco’ option to remove cheese, rice, sour cream, and add in pico de gallo.

I was reading a fast food study some years ago and it was saying that TB is way healthier than most others. Only thing I balked at was TB Signature Taco Packets. I love the fucking shit but they are all made from GMO ingredients. But what isn't these days? GMO or not, their sauce's are amazing and worth any potential risk?

It’s the best of all the fast food joints IMO. I gave up sugar about a month ago and have lost 14 lbs in a month. 25 more lbs to go and I’ll be at my ideal weight of 185. I can cheat a little on the weekends, I am gonna have an Encharito and a soft shell chicken taco.

No matter what I order I'll always walk out with a few encharitos. Love them!!!

Now I got Enchiritos on the brain for the past fucking 3 hours. I know what's gonna be for lunch today carcinogens and all. The thing I like about Enchiritos is they keep well in the fridge. Every time I get TB I'll always get a few to-go for later. 6 hours later you can nuke them and they are just as good as they were when made. You ain't gonna do that with a hard shell taco or Mexican pizza. If you don't eat them right away they get the sog.

If it's not organic then it's unlikely to be healthy, full of carcinogenic pesticide

The only difference between organic and inorganic is around 4-5 dollars. Aside from that not much else. However before I get into a diatribe about how it's all bullshit I'll leave it at this:

This is a thread ultimately about fast food establishment not a hipster food thread.

Good move, Taco Bell! It's easy to make healthier choices, but I'm glad they've still got the totally unhealthy choices too, because sometimes you just get that kind of craving.

If you're going during the day for Taco Bell you're eating healthy.
If you're going during the night the word health never cross your scrambled mind
