This years competition has now started with the Blue Bulls (last years winners from South Africa) and the Crusaders (from New Zealand) taking a full 5 points each.

Is there anyone else following this premier rugby competition here? If so, what is your allegiance? I am a Blue Bulls fan, having lived in South Africa many years ago.

Hurricanes! :nanner:
I hope they do well
Highlanders will suck again
Blues could be good, or underperform again. They fell away in their first game.
Crusaders/Bulls for best teams

I would have loved to see them play live. But we were in NZ at the
end of the provincials so we missed them by a long shot.

Looks like a great game day out though :)

Yeah...as much as I hate to admit it for the obvious reasons, Carisbrook is definitely on the short list for one of the sport's cathedrals.

My cousin lives 15 mins away from there, and I used to pass it all
the time on the way to his house from Dunedin. But it looks like a
great little stadium compared to Murrayfield.

Most stadiums are little when compared with that. ;) ...but the feel is something really awesome, you'll have to come back for a test.

Another good week for super 14 rugby with 54 tries scored over all games.
A massive 18 of which were scored in the Lions (65) v. (72) Chiefs game.
The Bulls stay on top of the table with 2 wins from 2 and bonus points from both games. The 'Canes, Chiefs and Stormers also keep 100% records. The Sharks seem to be struggling a bit so far this season, but it's early days yet. Bryan Habbana's move from the Blues to the Stormers seems to be working out, with Bryan picking up 2 tries in the Stormers games against the Waratahs.

I'm looking forward to next week already.

Friday night, and the super 14 weekend kicks off again.
The sharks are looking a pale imitation of last year, losing to The Crusaders 35-6 in Christchurch.
It does not get any better for the South African fans of super 14 with the Stormers being beaten at home by the Brumbies in a close run match 17-19, Pietersen missing a conversion after time which would have tied the game.

Roll on Saturday's games. With the 6 nations back again this weekend - Wales kicking off against France in 40 minutes, it looks like we're in for a good rugby weekend.

The Highlanders are away to the Cheetahs - Another defeat there then :1orglaugh

As for the 5 Nations I think we'll get beat again off the Italians :helpme:

The Cheetahs arent that great, so the Highlanders might win, even if it is in SA.
Theyre still the worst NZ team though
Hurricanes have had a good start, 3-0 :nanner:
They havent played any really good teams yet though, and they wont until round 6 away against the Bulls, which they will probably lose.
(when is the last time the Bulls lost at home :dunno:)

To answer your question - In the Super 14's April 2008 against the Hurricanes. The score 22-50.
In domestic rugby, they lost to the Sharks in the Currie cup September 2009 (23-29).
