I love those things. If it's not tuna, what the hell is it? Tastes like tuna. Looks like tuna. I have a feeling this is bullshit.

There was a TV programme here a few years ago where the presenter bought a load of canned meats from various supermarkets to see just how much actual meat content they had in them.

One place was selling hot dog sausages that were 0% meat but they were allowed to keep selling them because they didn't mention they had meat anywhere on the packaging. So I can well believe this.

I had a foot long tuna earlier from there. It was yummy as always. Call me crazy, but I like those things.

[Speaking of liking things - boobs!} Jessica Simpson: Is this chicken what I have, or is this fish? I know it's tuna, but it says chicken...by the sea?"

They put cellulose in almost everything. The most common house hold thing I see is pre-shredded cheese. Its a fancy name for plant fibers. Cotton is over 90% cellulose naturally.

Just got back from Subway. God help those millenials......it took this kid three tries to figure out what I meant by "black pepper" before his co-worker had to point it out. Some folks just weren't meant for the fast-paced, high I.Q. world of fast food.

I have a little throw up in my mouth right now. I took that Jessica Simpson picture and did a search on it:

One hundred and sixty two (162) results from Tineye. One hundred and sixty one (161) of them from FoxNews.

Yuk.

Matpat recently did a video on this and put a pretty convincing argument that the claim is BS.
It's started by some attention-whores, and it's been done with other companies.

The kicker is "We found that the ingredients were not tuna and not fish”. It would be believable if they said they used some cheaper fish, but they're saying that it's not fish at all.

More to the point, if Subway managed to create a potentially vegan fish substitute that could fool most of their customers which was cheaper than any type of fish out there, they would have just sold that as the fish alternative and made even more money.

Tuna, as we know it, is rarely actually tuna as some of us expect anyway. A lot of times, your "light tuna," aka not albacore aka just "tuna" is skipjack. A type of bonito, in the mackrel/tuna family. It's sold as tuna, just like rockfish is sold as cod or rockcod or even red snapper.

Albacore has to be albacore. Yellowfin has to be yellowfin, often called ahi. Bluefin, well, thats some fancy shit.

Whoever is trying to make money off this needs to get a job and work like the rest of us.

This is enough for me to think the lawsuit is full of shit, or whatever fish-substitute they're alleging is in there.

Seriously, it's easy to forget how many types of top grade sushi are tuna as well. One quality tuna can easily cost more than a cow.

I am in America, not of it.
And on the Subway thread, they lost me when they dropped Roast Beef. Don't know why they quit, maybe the young don't like it but I do and now I don't like them.

Hey Bubb, ever try the Southwest Chipotle Steak & Cheese? That's my favorite at Subway. I get it with everything on it plus jalapeños and extra Southwest Chipotle Sauce. Plenty of salt and pepper too. I like cilantro on my sandwich but they don't have it anymore.

Always look for the specials. They did a 3 footlong for $18, another one where you double the meat for an extra $2, and now I believe you can buy one footlong and get a second footlong for 50% off. Tell them Dino Velvet sent you and they won't charge you for the gob of thick, steamy mucous you find in your sandwich after already eating half of it. Good times.
