Subscription Threads

So I've subscribed to a thread 'What's on your desktop / your wallpaper" but for whatever reason, I never get an email update until I come to the forum directly and see that there's been updates. What am I doing wrong?

I go to my settings and choose subscriptions and don't see it there either but when I am on the forum and choose the option, it says I am already subscribed.
