submiting new links

I'm no web master and I don't own anything, but I got a bunch of links I want to submit (mostly from pink porn search) and I don't want to get in any trouble.

Ok, so I got it to work. How do I know if it didn't pass, and will I know why so I can avoid that happening again.

On a similar note (and this is no doubt answered elsewhere) I went to add a link but the instructions made it sound like it I had to be the owner of the site I was linking to, which I'm not. Can I add a link or do I need to get approval from the site owner first?

You'll get an email with the acceptance or rejection reason.

In a nutshell, is the content that you want to submit to us legal? This mean, was it meant for public consumption? A sample gallery, meant for promoting the pay site, is OK since it was released by the site as sample material. A link to a tube site hosting pirated material isn't ok.

Ok, thanks very much for clearing that up.

If I click on "> Submit new links here" on the page for a babe, I get a form which has the following required fields:

  • Return Link to Freeones: http:// No return link means no listing
  • Your pictures or videos are: Owned outright, licensed, promotional, used with permission / Collected from various locations on the Internet.
Both of these make it sound as if only a site owner or member of an affiliate program can submit links.

Is it possible for an ordinary fan to submit new links?
If not, why not?
If it is possible, is this correct form to use?
If it is, why is "Return link to Freeones" a required field?
If it isn't true that you have to provide a return link, why does the form say that you have to?

These are very relevant questions and I would like to get a definitive clarification on this too. The current instructions for adding links are really strongly pointing to the direction that you have to be the webmaster in order for anything to happen. The required freeones return link field really gives a very strong impression to that effect. As an ordinary porn consumer (not a webmaster of any site whatsoever), I can't possibly have a valid return link url if the actual sample gallery owner hasn't put one on his site. For that to happen, I would have to mail the gallery owner notifying them that I want their link listed in freeones, which would cause a delay (probably infinite, somehow I suspect that they're not very eager on reading e-mails from hundreds of people requesting this) in getting the gallery actually listed here. This is a very strong discouragement for normal free porn consumers when it comes to submitting new links.

Even more importantly, why is it required to give my real name on an unsecured, unencrypted (non-SSL/TLS) HTTP connection every single time when I want to submit a new link? Call me paranoid, but I will absolutely not do that. Can't you check that if a user is logged in to the board or MyFreeones, these details would automatically be taken from the user profile? Better yet, why not just use the board user ID for identifying the source of the link in that case? I guess it's fine for webmasters to give their names and e-mail addresses every time if they don't want to get a board account here, but as a board member... It just seems like a useless burden and a severe risk for exposing my full identity every time I am required to give my name.

These are the reasons that have kept me from even trying to post new, absolutely rule-abiding sample gallery links for my favorite babes, many of whom have really dismally small amounts of links listed on their babe pages.

I can clarify two of the raised questions though:
If it is possible, is this correct form to use?

Yes, it has to be the correct one. There are no other forms available for submitting links.

  • Your pictures or videos are: Owned outright, licensed, promotional, used with permission / Collected from various locations on the Internet.

I'm quite sure that for normal porn fans, the answer here is always "collected from various locations on the Internet". I think it is safe to assume that that choice automatically lowers the handling priority for a link. That's to be expected and quite logical; actual content owners will always have greater levels of trust than random link posters, even if one is a registered board member here.

Hopefully I can clear up some of your questions.

Who can submit links to a babe section?

Technically anyone can.

Why is the "return link to FreOnes" a required field?

Because most people who use this feature are submitting content to us for their own purposes. This is a requirement they must follow in order to get their links submitted.

If you're not a webmaster, just a regular user, you can put FreeOnes in as the return URL.

Even more importantly, why is it required to give my real name on an unsecured, unencrypted (non-SSL/TLS) HTTP connection every single time when I want to submit a new link?

This is a requirement to submit links. However, most people only put a first name or an alias.

This is a legal issue, not a priority issue. Like everyone else in the world, we have to follow copyright laws too. Just because you find a nice photo/video gallery of a girl out on the internet, that doesn't automatically mean you can repost it. There's a lot of people out there who steal content that was never meant to be posted for free.

Some stuff we can put in babe sections without express permission, a lot of stuff we can't.

Thanks for your support. I rather hoped that your posting would have prompted the powers that be into responding, but it seems not.

This is a very, very busy board. Sometimes we miss stuff that's been posted! You can always PM a mod and ask them to poke one of us to answer questions like this!

I guess that was just too simple for me. :o

However, most people only put a first name or an alias.

All right. I guess it was again too simple for me to consider using just an alias. :o:o The thought crossed my mind but I wasn't sure about it. Though it's good to have it confirmed that the link won't be automatically rejected if I don't use my actual name. That's basically why I was asking this. Now I know that I'm going to just use my board/MyFO user name when submitting a link.

This is a legal issue, not a priority issue.

Well... That's kind of what I was getting at, I just managed to be very unclear about it. I've seen a lot of attempts at posting links to e.g. filesharing sites here on the forum, so I know that a random link poster can't be trusted at all. Thus it is always more work for you to check the legality of links from fans like us compared to if the link poster is an ACO, model or OCSM herself (or any other trusted source that the Freeones team knows about). Therefore I imagine that links from trusted sources end up being handled much faster and therefore having a higher de facto priority, because they won't have legal issues. That's what I meant.

I'm just being excessively verbose here... What I mean to say is:

Thank you Petra. I have found the answers I wanted.

Thanks very much for your response. Just one query (I'm probably being stupid here). You say:

Why is the "return link to FreOnes" a required field?

If you're not a webmaster, just a regular user, you can put FreeOnes in as the return URL.

Do you mean one should literally put "http://www.freeones.com" in this field? Or if not, what?

Thanks again

MikeA

I have a question. For the part where you have to select if the link your submitting is wwned outright, licensed, promotional, used with permission or collected from various sources on the internet, how can you tell if your is one of the options?

If you just found a link that contains a sample gallery, usually you can choose the first option.

I am somewhat confused with this now.

I've been trying to submit a few links. I just got an email back on one gallery that says "This link was rejected for a reason, please don't submit any links that don't belong to you". This is the link I tried to submit:

http://www.boobsview.com/sc15/kaytee-carter-x01/03.html

I said in the comments that I was not the webmaster of boobsview. As a matter of fact, I think I made that comment on another link I submitted before as well:

http://www.bustyland.net/galleries/scoreland/scoreland11b/gal213/Kaytee-Carter/index.html

That link got accepted regardless of me saying that I'm not the webmaster. So what is going on here? Are non-webmasters allowed to post these links or not? I have two conflicting answers here. Both the acceptance and rejection emails came from Antony, by the way.

It seems that I will keep to posting links to the board and forget the add links feature on the babe pages. To be frank, even posting links on the board already consumes an insane amount of time as I try to be sure that I'm not reposting anything.

Maybe there has been a breakdown in communication somewhere? :dunno:
