I'm more of a Stax man. Issac Hayes, Otis Redding. I like the motown songs from the late sixties on (Can't Get Next To You, etc.).

No Problem. For Motown, I have to give it to Gladys Knight & the Pips (Neither One of Us).

I could go on and on....one of the greatest music genres in history. They don't write 'em like that anymore. :crying:

Racing is life... anything else is just waiting.
So many to choose from. But I'd say the O'Jays.

What's funny is that a lot of these old Motown hits are still timely today... and often a LOT better than most of the synthesized total crap that gets played on the radio these days. Does anybody else agree that the movie "Jackie Brown" helped spark a revival in old Motown tunes? I was more into rock as a kid. So until I saw Jackie Brown, I wasn't aware of some of these great songs, like "Across 110th Street" by Bobby Womack.

The Supremes are one of my all time faves from the Motown era... classy, and can actually sing! Refreshing compared to modern "pop" music.

"Think" - as sung by Aretha Franklin. :)

Duane Allman did some playing as a session guitarist at the FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama where he played with Aretha, Wilson Pickett, Otis Rush, Percy Sledge, Clarence Carter, King Curtis, and Laura Nyro among others. Though I'm not sure if he is playing here on this song.
