Soul Calibur IV anounced for PS3 and Xbox 360.

Here's a quick heads-up courtesy of Gamespot.
After the anouncement of a Soul Calibur game for Wii, Namco has given the greenlight on the 4th instalment of Soul Calibur for Xbox 360 and PS3.

That's some great news !! I was really disapointed when they released the third Soul Calibur game exclusively for PS2 because it's my favorite fighting game franchise .

Well the trailer looks pretty, but wheres the in game footage?????

I hope they have the balls totry and make the game more fresh than the repeats of Tekken, DOA et al. surely with the power behind the Xbox 360 and PS3 its time to through more people into fights instead of the same old same old 2 on 2....

:shrug: Was SC3 any good? I liked 2 only. The first one was complete garbage on PS1. Too difficult at any setting and the gfx were piss.

IMO SC3 was indeed crap, the rest of the series was definetly great in my book.
I've played the hell out of the first game (Soul Blade) on PS1, and it's sequel Soul Calibur made my Dreamcast work overtime.

I do hope that Namco will stick to a traditional Story Mode as opposed to that muck we got with SC3.

It's so happens that Ivy and Mitsurugi are my favorite characters, so that trailer made my day.
I hope that Namco will re-work some of the animation for the older moves.
They will be doing the same for Tekken 6 so that players will have to re-learn how to counter certain incoming attacks.

Does anyone have Soul Calibur IV for PS3? If so, how in the FUCK do you make your own original character? All I can figure out is how to edit an already exisiting character's outfit, but I can't figure out how to make my own character from scratch.

I have the XBOX 360 version but it should be the same as the PS3 version. If you look next to Siegfried there is a slot that has a man and a woman. Click on that slot and then you can create up to 50 characters provided you haven't edited any of the existing characters. Creating characters is fun in this game, I've created 50 characters. I've got He-Man characters, Sailor Moon and her Sailor Scouts, Power Rangers, Conan, Red Sonja, Greek Gods, Street Fighters, Mortal Kombat Fighters and plenty more.

Wow, THAT'S where they decide to put the "Create Your Own Character" slot? That's kind of stupid on their part.
