I'd have to say it's a toss up between Pulp Fiction and Almost Famous. I'm a big fan of the '60s and '70s, so those are the obvious choices, at least for me. What are your favorite soundtracks of all time?

Pulp Fiction:

1. Pumpkin And Honey Bunny (dialogue) / Misirlou - Dick Dale & His Del-Tones
2. Royale With Cheese - (dialogue)
3. Jungle Boogie - Kool & The Gang
4. Let's Stay Together - Al Green
5. Bustin' Surfboards - The Tornadoes
6. Lonesome Town - Ricky Nelson
7. Son of a Preacher Man - Dusty Springfield
8. Zed's Dead, Baby (dialogue) / Bullwinkle Part II - The Centurions
9. Jack Rabbit Slim's Twist Contest (dialogue) / You Can Never Tell - Chuck Berry
10. Girl, You'll Be a Woman Soon - Urge Overkill
11. If Love Is a Red Dress (Hang Me in Rags) - Maria McKee
12. Bring Out The Gimp (dialogue) / Comanche - The Revels
13. Flowers on the Wall - The Statler Brothers
14. Personality Goes a Long Way - (dialogue)
15. Surf Rider - The Lively Ones
16. Ezekiel 25:17 - (dialogue)
17. Since I First Met You - The Robins
18. Rumble - Link Wray & His Raymen
19. Strawberry Letter #23 - The Brothers Johnson
20. Out of Limits - The Marketts

Almost Famous:

1. "America" - Simon & Garfunkle (03:37)
2. "Sparks" - The Who (03:49)
3. "It Wouldn't Have Made Any Difference" - Todd Rundgren (03:52)
4. "I've Seen All Good People: Your Move" - Yes (03:34)
5. "Feel Flows" - The Beach Boys (04:44)
6. "Fever Dog" - Stillwater (03:10)
7. "Every Picture Tells A Story" - Rod Stewart (05:56)
8. "Mr. Farmer" - The Seeds (02:52)
9. "One Way Out" - The Allman Brothers Band (04:59)
10. "Simple Man" - Lynyrd Skynyrd (05:57)
11. "That's The Way" - Led Zeppelin (05:37)
12. "Tiny Dancer" - Elton John (06:16)
13. "Lucky Trumble" - Nancy Wilson (02:42)
14. "I'm Waiting For The Man" - David Bowie (05:43)
15. "The Wind" - Cat Stevens (01:41)
16. "Slip Away" - Clarence Carter (02:32)
17. "Something In The Air" - Thunderclap Newman (03:55)

Definitely "Empire Records" for me. I loved the movie, and I hadn't heard any of the songs on the soundtrack before, and wound up loving half of them.

The great David Lynch film "Lost Highway" has a pretty good soundtrack as well.

Normally, I'm not too big on soundtracks though.

pulp fiction and resevoir dogs-quentin has a great sense of music.

also the big chill cuz im into that old shit.

^You should get into more soundtracks. I never used to listen to them, but the last few albums I've purchased have all been soundtracks.

Recommended:
Vanilla Sky
King of California
Wristcutters: A Love Story
Little Miss Sunshine
The Graduate
pretty much anything Tarantino does (Kill Bill, Jackie Brown, Deathproof)

With King of Cali and Wristcutters you should probably watch the movie first. It makes more sense.

Nice thread, my favorite soundtrack is SAW

"Saw"
1."Sturm" (Bill Leeb, Rhys Fulber) – Front Line Assembly
2."Hello, Adam" – Charlie Clouser
3."Bite the Hand That Bleeds" (Olde Wolbers, Herrera, Bell) – Fear Factory
4."Last I Heard" – Charlie Clouser
5."Action" (Troy Van Leeuwen, Jason Slater) – Enemy
6."Reverse Bear Trap" – Charlie Clouser
7."You Make Me Feel So Dead" (Stephen Ladd Bishop, Charles Todd Conally, D Stavern) – Pitbull Daycare
8."X–Marks the Spot" – Charlie Clouser
9."Wonderful World" (Schmidt, Larsen) – Psychopomps
10."Cigarette" – Charlie Clouser
11."We're Out of Time" – Charlie Clouser
12."Fuck This Shit" – Charlie Clouser
12."Hello Zepp" (Charlie Clouser with Page Hamilton, Danny Lohner, Chas Smith, Section) – Charlie Clouser
13."Zepp Overture" (Charlie Clouser with Page Hamilton, Danny Lohner, Chas Smith, Section) – Charlie Clouser

Charlie Clouser does a lot of NIN stuff. I wouldn't doubt anything he's a part of is at least decent. I forgot to add Donnie Darko, if you like '80s music.

I dont usually buy them. Im just thinking of what I liked whilst watching the film, I like to hear the music along with the image on screen,

soundtracks kinda suck tho'. they usually only have a couple good songs nowadays. i also forgot to mention Dr. Strangelove. i dont know if there is a soundtrack, but there is some great classical symphony and the song at the end by vera lynn is so perfect.

In no particular order:

* The Doors
* Road To Perdition
* Hunt For Red October
* Black Hawk Down
* Rocky Story
* Shawshank Redemption
* The Thin Red Line
* Cruel Intentions
* Starship Troopers
* Robocop
* Schindler's List

In general, I like Hans Zimmer's minimalistic yet fusionist style. I like Pouledouris and his big opera feel.

cheers,

Nice thread Sputnik!!!

I have the Pulp Fiction!!!

One of the best is "The Crow"

Other great ones: In the name of the father
Godzilla
Shine a light
Awakenings

One of my favorite soundtracks--though I haven't listened to it for awhile..."Singles" -- early 90s movie with some decent grunge on it..

"Pulp Fiction" is a great soundtrack. There was a recent "Godzilla" movie which had a good soundtrack--Rage Against the Machine and Ben Folds Five

Reqiuem For A Dream
Awesome! Especially the main theme.
One of the best is "The Crow"
Damn straight, that is one fine soundtrack.
Have this one too. "No Shelter" by RATM off this soundtrack my favorite of their many terrific songs. Great fucking bass for a rock song. As mentioned, Ben Folds Five is on this, Green Day "Brain Stew" remix, The Wallflowers, Days of the New, Silverchair, Foo Fighters. Good shit.

I also have to add "Forrest Gump" and "City of Angels"

I like the ending song on "The Matrix" by "Rage againts the machine"
