Six dead after radical muslims open fire in Quebec mosque

One suspect in Quebec attack is French-Canadian, one of Moroccan heritage-source

Two suspects were under arrest after six people were killed in a shooting at a Quebec City mosque, police said on Monday, and a source said one was French-Canadian and the other was of Moroccan heritage.

One suspect in Sunday evening's attack was identified as Alexandre Bissonnette, a French-Canadian, the other as Mohamed Khadir, who is of Moroccan descent although his nationality was not immediately known, according to the source.

Bissonnette is a 27-year-old student at nearby Université Laval, said a former high school classmate, Simon de Billy.

Police declined to give details of the suspects' identities or possible motives for the attack during evening prayers at the Centre Culturel Islamique de Québec. Five people were critically injured, and 12 were treated for minor injuries, a spokeswoman for the Quebec City University Hospital said.

“Legal procedures are now underway and we cannot make any comment on the identity of the suspects,” Royal Canadian Mounted Police national security superintendent Martin Plante told a news conference. He said the suspects, both men, were not previously known to police.
One suspect was arrested at the mosque, where police were called at about 8 p.m. local time, and the other turned himself about an hour later, Quebec City Police Inspector Denis Turcotte said.
Police said they were confident no other suspects were involved in the attack.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau earlier called the shooting "a terrorist attack on Muslims." He was heading to Quebec City later on Monday, a spokesman said.
U.S. President Donald Trump called Trudeau to express his condolences "and offered to provide any assistance as needed," said Trudeau spokesman Cameron Ahmad. He gave no further details about of the call.

The shooting came over a weekend when Trudeau said Canada would welcome refugees, speaking in response to Trump's order to halt the U.S. refugee program and to temporarily bar citizens from seven Muslim-majority countries from entering the United States.

Trump's action, which the president said was aimed at protecting Americans from the threat of attacks by militant Islamists, was widely condemned in the United States and abroad as targeting Muslims.

FATHER OF FOUR AMONG THOSE KILLED

A father of four, the owner of a halal butcher near the mosque, was among those killed, said Pamela Sakinah El-hayet, a friend of one of the people at the mosque.
The mosque concierge was killed, as was Ahmed Youness, a 21-year-old student, El-hayet told Reuters. One of El-hayet’s friends, Youness’ roommate, was in the mosque at the time of the shooting. He was unharmed, she said, but in total shock.
Ali Assafiri, a student at Université Laval, said he had been running late for the evening prayers at the mosque, near the university in the Quebec City area. When he arrived, the mosque had been transformed by police into a crime scene.
"Everyone was in shock," Assafiri said by phone. "It was chaos."
Université Laval is the oldest French-language university in North America, with 42,500 students.

Vigils were planned for Montreal and Quebec City, the provincial capital, as well as in Edmonton later on Monday. There was an outpouring of support for the mosque on social media.
While the motive for the shooting was not known, incidents of Islamophobia have increased in Quebec in recent years.

The face-covering, or niqab, became a big issue in the 2015 Canadian federal election, especially in Quebec, where the majority of the population supported a ban on it at citizenship ceremonies.
Pope Francis offered his condolences to Cardinal Gerald Cyprien LaCroix, Archbishop of Quebec, who was visiting Rome on Monday.
"The pope underlined how important it is in these moments that everyone remains united in prayer, Christians and Muslims," the Vatican said in a statement.

Ironicaly, the meme applies to both the terrorists and the victims...

But wait, muslims terrorists targeting muslims. Could it mean that there's a fringe of radical muslims who are comitting terrorism and pushing for sharia law all over the world while a majority of muslims are moderates who just want to live their lives peacefuly ?

Anyway, I can't help but notice that when islamic terrorism strikes in the US, in france, in Turkey, etc. right-winger are quick to report it on the board but when muslims are the victims, they keep silent...

You're right. I don't care if Muslims kill each other.

who is arguing that islamic terrorists aren't a fringe? But when you're talking over a billion muslims worldwide, that's a significant fringe in sheer numbers and a huge problem. But of those who are in favor of sharia law, numbers are significantly higher if not a majority.

RIP to those who were killed, but sadly muslims killing muslims is not a rare or new phenomenon. It's daily that you hear of someone walking into a market in Iraq or some other country in the region and blowing up scores of people because they happen to be the wrong brand of islam. They've been doing that to each other for centuries ever since the 2nd cousin of a prophet stole a goat, had sex with it but but failed return it in a timely fashion and/or pay a dowry. Maybe it was more complicated than that, but I honestly don't care. Keep killing each other, just leave civilization out of it.

But, but...........Canada is a socialist utopia where only police and military personnel can carry firearms not designed for hunting. Surely these weapons were homemade because nobody in Canada would knowingly acquire weapons for anything other than hunting.

Oh wow, it was a little white nazi fanboy. Who would have guessed,

...

'Pain and anger'

As Bissonnette's name began to circulate online, one Facebook group dedicated to welcoming refugees in the Quebec City area expressed "pain and anger" over the news.

The suspect was "unfortunately known to several activists in Quebec City for his pro-Le Pen and anti-feminist positions at Laval University and on social networks," wrote the Bienvenue aux réfugié.es - Ville de Québec Facebook group.

Obviously a mentally ill lad. anti-feminist doesn't raise any red flags.
I wonder what the motive was?

As mental as our very own Beatman

And no wonder you find hate against muslims normal, you share his view.

I must admit I went a littel to quick too conclusions :
Because one of the two suspect had an arabic name and was from morocco, I thought they both were muslims. Seems like the truth is very diffrent : Mohamed Khadir is now considered by police as witness who wasn't involved in the shooting. Alexandre Bisonette was the only shooter. He is a radiical right-winger, a white nationalist, an anti-feminist, Trump and Lepen fan and an internet troll.

When radical muslims do terrorism, right-wingers call them terrorists. When far right-wingers do terrorism, right-wingers call them mentally ill...

If only Canada had more gun control, they could avoid the mentally ill going into their place of work and committing work place violence. He did work there didn't he? Maybe he identified as a Muslim or a janitor at the mosque.
We really don't know what his motivation was.

Hopefully, they will reach some conclusion as to what drove this young man to commit this senseless act. We need closure, the country needs closure and those patriotic Canadian Muslims deserve closure.

and this looks like a false flag. this comes 24 hours or less when Trump sign the temporary migrant ban

Is the terror attack in Quebec linked to mind control?

The Allan Memorial Institute is located in Montreal in Quebec.

The Institute is known for its role in the CIA's Project MKUltra, an initiative to develop drug-induced mind control.

MKUltra experimentation was undertaken by its founding director Donald Ewen Cameron.

How often do you hear about mass shootings in Canada ? When six people die in a mass shotting happens in Canada, it's in the news all over the world. When six people die in a mass shooting in the US, it's just another day in Gunland
