The 2012 Olympic mascots were unveiled in London yesterday and basically may have immediately ruined the cool factor for these Olympic games :rofl::thefinger

I thought America ruined the Olympics when we unleashed "Izzy the Blue Turd" upon the world in 1996...


So, this in this thread we will vote for which nation unleashed the worst mascot on upon the world...

Yes take it! Take it now! For the love of all that is good and holy, take it now!!! Let the billions that have already been spent on it go to waste in the right way. Not in the cringe worthy spectacle that will be London 2012.

These "mascots" just add to the overall embarrassment factor I was talking about, believe me there's more to come. Just another couple billion to spend on the damn thing....

I think the "We" in this poll means "The World" in general, or.....maybe Turks&Caicos specifically ;)

While their names sound like characters from a lost novel by Emily Bronte, Hemlock and Unpleasantville are a metaphor for the current state of the UK. Two one-eyed dickheads join forces to create an unprecedented extent of collective annoyance. While the blue guy has apparently wetted his pants in anxious anticipation, the yellow one is smugly showing off his new stripes.

I jumped the gun and posted before the poll was up. :dunno::D

Maybe one of the uni-brow countries should be given a chance next time. At least then when the mascot sucks we can pity them and applaud the effort, rather than laughing at how absolutely pathetic they are (even though deep down we really believe this to also be true).

Anyway, I hope the US can go as long as possible without getting the Olympics again.

It's the third time London has hosted them. They do seem to be a sort of pissing competition with every host trying to outdo the previous one.Perhaps one day common sense will prevail.In 1948 the London Olympics more or less used the facilities already there and it went off very well.
