Anti-suicide barriers costing $50 million (£29.3 million) are to be installed along the length of the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco to stop people leaping to their deaths.

This has little to do with the saving of lives, IMO. It has to do with
certain individuals receiving kick backs ($$$) from those within the circle(s) of "the deal".
