BOSTON - A cancerous brain tumor caused the seizure Sen. Edward M. Kennedy suffered over the weekend, doctors said Tuesday in a grim diagnosis for one of American politics' most enduring figures. "He remains in good spirits and full of energy," the doctors for the 76-year-old Massachusetts Democrat said in a statement.

Sad...I feel sorry for that family, with all the crap they've had to experience over the past 40 years. :(

That's really sad!

Yet it proves the difference between a Kennedy and a Bush: The Bushs don't have to worry about brain tumors in the first place...

You are so right SG. :( That family has been jinxed for many years and suffered more than their share. I also see a man that has had a great successful life. I do hope there is very little suffering for him as well as his family. Cancer sucks on any level and the deterioration of a loved one is a hard thing to watch.

That is so true. The Bush's/Republicans would blame brain tumors on the Clinton administration. I hope Ted Kennedy is able to make a full recovery.

Ted Kennedy a with a brain tumor? Wow. I would've thought that any such kind of ailment in the good senator's body would have been pickled in Martini residue.

Actually, I blame it on weak cells in the brain taking over for healthy cells.

Yeah no matter what peoples politics are they should acknowledge the sacrifice that family has made.Of the 4 sons only Ted saw age 50.

:rofl::thumbsup:

Actually GWB is a case for the proposition that man is not evolving.The father looks like einstein next to the son.

I am very sorry that he (or anybody) has a brain tumour.

But to be blunt, the guy is 76 years old. This isn't like his brothers that died relatively young. Even if this does kill him, I would call 76 years a pretty full life; especially considering the way he has abused his body with alcohol and being overweight.

But 76 or 106, I hate to see cancer take anyone's life and I sincerely hope he beats it.

I agree with Nomad, this guy has lived a full life. I almost look upon this as the end of an era in politics. It will be interesting to see how long the idea of Camelot stays in the American mindset. Who is there to pass the torch to?

I'm sorry for him but yes, he has lived a full life though a lot of Kennedy watchers must have longed for more. Talking about Camelot, it's been a long time. It's ancient history although baby boomers may still find some magic in the thought.

No matter your political leanings, this comment is absolutely classless. If you've ever had anyone close to you stricken with cancer, you would never dream of making such an insensitive comment. I don't neg rep people on principle but the though crossed my mind when I read your remarks.

Senator Kennedy has been a giant on the political landscape of the USA for many years. He is not likely to overcome this. To die from a brain malignancy is an ugly affair. It is an incredibly dehumanizing experience for the victim and for all those who are close to him. My thoughts and prayers are with Senator Kennedy and his family as they await what is sure to be a most difficult experienced in the upcoming months.
