What prompted you to bring this age-old issue up again? You expecting to find bible thumpers here?

I'm waiting for Will E to object
It's 2012, there is no reason why two people should not be allowed to marry. If two men want to get married, it's the same as a man and a woman.

As both a state regulated legal contract and a Christian rite for the last two millennia or so, marriage is probably one of the worst overlaps of church and state in our country today. I can see both sides of the issue. Regardless, marriage licenses are the domain of the states, not the federal government. Right or wrong, if the people of a state want to ban it or legalize it, they should have the right to do so.

I'm for it. Only because I want to marry my cow Sheila and allowing the homos to get married will set the kind of precedent I need to further lobby the government.

Derp.

You can fall in love and Marry anyone you want! And it will also bring in more tax money for our government to spend!! :)

I don't see a problem with it. As a whole, I see the whole concept of marriage as nothing but a false label in no way different from any relationship excluding the fiscal and legal aspects. Those of which, are merely setbacks due to the faulty system in place. I don't support same-sex marriage nor do I support opposite-sex marriage. Think about it, you're 2 human beings, just enjoy each other.

I know what you mean, man. I never understood the idea that because a man gives a woman (or another man, or whatever) a ring, he suddently loves her more. As far as I'm concerned, you can be in even more love without being married than people who actually are.

I used to be against this thanks to my religion. But now, I'm like, who cares? What people do in their lives is none of my business. As long as they don't harm me (which they're not), then people can do whatever they want. And really, I'm in no position to tell someone how they should live their life.

I am a failure to the Korean side of my family
This gives me an excuse to become a Unitarian minister! So I am all for it!

I would have no problem marrying another guy. The only comditions are that:

He supports me.
He has no interest in touching me.
We have seperate places to live.
He doesn't tell me what to do.

the conservatives on this site are gonna pretend their for it because they like to watch 2 girls going at it and don't wanna get called out as hypocrites

Now, now Ralph. Don't start lumping all conservatives together. I am conservative. I am for gay marriage. And watching 2 girls together does nothing for me.

For it. I think we, the heterosexual community, has already made an abomination out of the "sanctity" of marriage with the adultery and divorce rates, spousal abuse, broken families. There is nothing the gays are going to do to destroy marriage that we haven't already done. Everyone is deserving of love and the ability to profess their love and commitment in a public and permanent way. I hate that its 2012 and the gay community is still being repressed and treated like second rate human beings.
