Robot sub aims for deepest ocean

A robotic submarine is undergoing final preparations to dive to the deepest-known part of the oceans.

If successful, Nereus will be the first autonomous vehicle to visit the 11,000m (36,089ft) Challenger Deep in the Pacific Ocean

I hope it can bring back some new species for scientists to study.
 
Yes, new species! Maybe not bring back to dissect and destroy... but... would be cool to hear of and/or see some new creatures for sure!
 
From what I remember one of the times they have went down there the seabed was pretty barren. Of course it's not like there was a wide field of vision with the lights they had on the manned submersible and the little windows they were looking through.
