RISK! Anybody Play?

So we all know the game RISK, at least all of us that went to college ;). So who still plays. I love this game. So simple yet so profound.

Anybody?

Haven't played in a few years, but used to play it monthy with friends for about a decade.
A prefer the Australian conservative strategy myself but I'm also very dangerous from South America.

Yah...I think the first to grab Australia has a as good or if not a better chance than anybody. North America would be my second choice.

North America is hard to keep against experienced players unless you have a treaty with someone.

We found the fairest way to play for everyone is to determine the start order before you place the pieces. Starting 4-6 almost demands a conservative strategy, starting 1st or 2nd allows for more agressive play.

great game, once played for 20 hours straight.

its tough when there are 3 players because it can turn into and ever lasting stalemate.

we never play with alliances. Well not never, people do break rules. But I think alliances fuck shit up. That's why I prefer to play online.

I think I have seen more arguments and bad feeling between players pop up when playing this board game than any other with Monopoly being a distant second. Alliances are a big reason for that.

I haven't played in years, but I was always pretty bad at it. I'm not exactly a great military strategist.

I like RISK.

There's a game called "Diplomacy" which is similar. We played it alot in an International Relations/Political Science class I took in college in '07. It's harder than RISK though because you have to make alliances, which you will have to ultimately betray, in order to grow your forces and win the game.

Haven`t played that for a while. The last version was a Lord Of The Rings set.Think i got beat in that real bad.I`m the same as a couple of people here,my strategy was always my weakest point.

I prefered Axis and Allies

welcome to international politics, bro.

I have Risk, but I haven't played it in so long. meester, I'm not sure what the best area to conquer is, but the worst area to conquer and hold is Asia.

stupid dice rolls could mess up a brilliant strategy.

Loved playing the game though, especially with 3 or 4 players.

Haven played Risk since 92'/ 93' era....real talk!!

Was like 10 or 11 yearz old back in the dayz in Upstate N.Y....
