Hi,
I get phone calls a lot that I don't know the number so I dont answer.
Also I get what seem to be scam calls claiming to be from the GOV or businesses but they have heavy foreign accents.

Then whenever I try to find a reverse lookup on google it seems all those websites are scams also trying to get money.
its like wtf?

Does anyone know a website that actually works to find out who the fuck is calling you?

Thanks

Try looking for a website that offers "inverssearch". That is the correct term in Germany.

Here is a german article on this, the first step always has to be:

Find out which country the call comes from. (+49 is Germany)

The USA has the website https://www.whitepages.com/ (Click tab #2 "Reverse Phone")

Another website that can help is this: https://www.numberway.com/

I would like to hear if this could help you

Well, to be fair... reverse phone lookup used to be a perfectly viable option for finding out where and who.

These days, not so much. Phone number spoofing is INSANELY easy to do, and there are paid services for you and me.

Sooo... imagine the guys behind it who are using their own service are just war-dialing and repeating any numbers on their call lists.
Anywho, it isnt from YOUR country. Its from those huge operatons in Russia, Indy, Mexico, etc.

Just dont pick up anymore. Blocking the number wont do a thing. There is no do not call list for spoofed numbers.

Mr. Daystar

In a bell tower, watching you through cross hairs.
You used to be able to go to the library and look up numbers in a reverse book. Of course this was obviously before instant info, and smart phones, etc.

If I don't recognize the number, I let it ring through to voice-mail. If it is IMPORTANT, the caller will leave a message.

wow

So many scam calls these days, often I don't bother answering

Yeah thats what I always said and usually I dont pick up, but sometimes I have to.

I guess White Pages is the only one that gives you info without getting your card info.
I remember a site that people would go to and report scammer numbers and even write comments about them regarding what they were up to.
It was pretty good, but I cant find it anymore.

If the spam callers tay on one or two numbers that show up on your phone, you can do as I do, and add them to your phone's adressbook, title "Spammer" or such.

Helps me a lot. I have two specific ones that even call again at specific time windows, so when I look to the ringing phone, and it says "Spammer", I press the red button, which is called "wegdrücken" in german ("push off", literally), and they are gone

Cool. Can you tell someone "Wegdrucken" as a form of "Get out of my face" or "get away from me"?
"Can I borrow your pen"?
"Wegdrucken before I kick your ass".

It's a term I learned, when I worked for the Deutsche Telekom. One of these words that people from technical companies use, not known in usual language. And you have to use the umlaut, Wegdrücken. Because "Wegdrucken" would switch it to "Print it away", which makes no sense
